* Based on a light novel series written by Takezuki Jou and illustrated by Sikorsky. The sixteen-year-old high school student Kusanagi Godou was running an errand for his grandfather, delivering a magic artefact to the Witch of Sardinia, Lucretia Zola. Before concluding his errand, however, he got himself caught up in a battle between Heretic Gods and met Erica Blandelli, a 16-year-old Great Knight of the Copper Black Cross magic society. Together with her and the artefact, he managed to slay the Heretic God Verethragna; this achievement bestowed upon him the title of Campione, or God Slayer, and gave him Verethragna's divine powers.
