"The future everyone dreamed of, an ideal, peaceful age where science solves everything. Most of the energy for cars, bikes, and factories comes from the sky, so we don't have to fight over resources. It's all thanks to the Manifestation Engine that was completed five years ago. The Manifestation Engine is on an artificial island in Sagami Bay, Blue Island. It provides energy all around the world through a network of satellites. Actually, the inventor of the Engine is none other than my granddad. He built me this thing too. The one and only flying bike in the world. I call it Doggy. The elderly say we're living in a great age. And I'm sure they are right! So I love everything here! This island, and all the people!" — Akane On Ooshima Island, the happy, carefree 14-year-old Isshiki Akane lives a modest, but well-loved life together with her reliable little sister, Momo, who does all the housework, and her grandfather, Dr. Isshiki, a genius inventor who is always tinkering on new devices. When the weather is clear, they can see the artificial Blue Island across the sea, with the revolutionary Manifestation Engine at its centre. Peace is soon shattered, when the Blue Island Unified Defense Command Center discovers an unidentified object, apparently of non-human origin, that attacks and immediately destroys the jet fighter scouting party. The mysterious enemy, the Alone that Dr. Isshiki had predicted would come, have arrived, targeting the Manifestation Engine. Since conventional weapons do not work against the Alone, it is up to Dr. Isshiki — who presently resides in a stuffed animal named Uso-kun, due to a freak accident — to save the day: A special key only Akane can use, transforms her into a powerful, red-armoured heroine, thanks to the Vivid System.
