In 2042 there was a major battle between Super Robots and huge unidentified creatures called Mimetic Beasts. In the final battle between the Japanese Super Robot Godannar and the last of the mighty Mimetic Beasts, the pilot, Saruwatari Goo loses Mira Ackerman, who was both his partner in combat and lover — but at least Goo was able to rescue the 12-year-old Aoi Anna. Five years later, Goo retires from front-line combat, and by then Anna has received expert training as a robot pilot.
