Lunia, the daughter of the count of Persephone, was shunned by her father and treated like a tool by her half-brother and had a lonely life. When she was chosen by a priest to be engaged to Hades, the duke of Khronoa, feared as the "King of the Underworld", she accepted the marriage, but Hades, despite being afflicted with a curse to have a short lifespan unless he marries a bride chosen by the emperor, told Lunia he had no intention of loving her.
