Uchuu no Kishi Tekkaman Blade (Space Knight Tekkaman Blade) debuted on Japanese TV in 1992. It is a futuristic anime and has a sequel entitled Tekkaman Blade II. It was shown in the US in dubbed form (and incredibly cut) by Saban, but cancelled mid-way. Bug-like aliens attack Earth in an attempt to make it a home for their alien biology. The Earth's defences include a space station that forms a continuous ring about the planet, and a process that turns the body of the hero, D-Boy, into a space-going battle robot. Most battles take place just outside the annular space station.
