One day at the literature club, while play-pretending being possessed by some otherworldly power, July actually summons superpowers onto everyone at the club: Chifuyu (materializes objects), Tomoyo (controls the flow of time), Hatoko (manipulates the five elements), Sayumi (restores original state), and July (summons a useless dark flame). At the club they perform a monthly superpower check-up, just to be sure they can control their new powers, should the need ever arise.
