Yeah i’m aware of that. I’m just asking if you’re interested in making a release for both movies in the future, i should have phrased my question better.

even if it gets official subs, that's no guarantee you can make a good release for mijikashi. it's extremely hard to translate so it's quite possible the official subs won't even be that good. if you look at the official subs for the tatami galaxy, an anime based on a book by the same author, they're actually pretty bad.

I admire your high standards as to what constitutes a good release, but it should be obvious to you that I don't exactly share those high standards. Nor could I share them, since I don't know Japanese and therefore lack the ability to know whether subs are bringing out the full potential of the source material.

If a better group than me said they were doing the movie(s), I would drop it/them.

i mean, part of it is because they have much stricter line lengths than us so funi had to drop a lot of information from the lines. i don't think "the lines have 100% of the information instead of 75%" is high standards.

i'd sub it myself if there were good official subs or if i knew a translator up to the task, but alas
