hmmmm ... over 9GB for a single movie ... looks like a CoalGirls job ... there has to be someone who knows how to do a BD rip at a much smaller file size

Each audio track is about 1.41 GB and as far as I can tell, Tracks 2 and 4 are identical to Tracks 1 and 3 which is to say they have no reason to exist and should just be muxed out. By removing them you reduce the overall size down to about 6.27 for Dual Audio and less than 5 GB for single audio. Isn't FLAC just wonderful?

@Cybord_Icarus29: Mostyly because most X265 content is encoded from X264 content which means the quality will obviously be worse. Also I find that X265 content doesn't play that well, sometimes I find X265 content that plays perfectly & smoothly but most of the time it just constantly stopping & buffering. Also DHD isn't really well known for subs since all his work is focused on video quality (10Bit BD) with low quality audio (AAC) & basic BD subs.

Most of DHD content is X264!, only acceptable audio is AC3, DTS & FLAC. His subs are borderline basic!, no styling or type setting, they are the normal subs you get with the disc.

VON-Encodes : Do you even know that most (if not all) dual-audio groups don't touch the subtitles, and that everything you mentioned comes under the purview of fansub groups? And that we are a dual-audio group? Maybe the lines are blurred these days thanks to people like Kametsu, who go around stealing the best of everything and making customs releases (English audio from the dual audio groups, subs from the best of fansub groups) but you can rest assured that we're old-fashioned.

I hope you don't have an axe to grind against us from that Ranma torrent page.

DorianHD: Most dual-audio releases I have from many different groups that have edited the subtitles (mostly fansub groups), I know that not all groups do this like you & CBM for example, I was just explaining why I didn't want to download your version (no offence). I'm always grateful for releases like yourself since sometimes your releases are the only decent quality available but in my own opinion having fansubs & higher quality audio will immediatly make that release more enticing over plain BD subtitles & AAC audio, I was just explaining why I would choose one release over another. I'm sorry if that created any offence or disrespect towards you.

I have nothing against you DHD I just don't understand why of lately you have taken to uploading to Nyaa when you have always been XDCC!, XDCC will always be quicker to get your files so I don't understand the logic in making a torrent for your content.

Noted my friend, no problem. I guess we want to reach out to a wider audience. For instance, there are about 70 people on our channel at any given time, that’s where the XDCC caps out at. Some torrents here on the other hand, have 200 hits and are still growing. That’s thrice the XDCC numbers. We hope to grow more and reach out to more people. Also, my friend Tri has hung around for two and a half decades, and has put out a lot of stuff for the community (half the dragonball on the internet is his). He's happy to fly under the radar, go unnoticed but I believe he and DHD deserve better publicity, more than just our channel. Of late we’ve switched to HEVC (the only way you can get in FLAC, DTS-HD) at reasonable filesizes. For example, here - https://nyaa.si/view/972992 , the FLAC audio alone comes to 5 GBs. Had I picked x264 at the same settings I now use for HEVC, the file size would’ve been about 10 GBs. We’ve got a seedbox now for the torrents, so they should be almost as fast as XDCC. Hope that clarifies,

Oh ok, If the XDCC has a cap I can see why you have started to move over to torrents. Will you do all your future content in X265 or only some?

Personally I'll continue with HEVC, Tri may continue with both x264 & x265 as he sees fit. Our XDCC doesn't have a cap, what I meant was that it has no more use than the size of our channel (70 hits) at any given time, while on nyaa the potential is a lot more. Might I kindly suggest that you upgrade your hardware - x265 in my humble opinion is definitely worth it, and UltraHD (nevermind x265 HD) will definitely be the future. Like SD gave way to HD.

I'm not saying X265 is awful!, I was merely stating that most X265 content at the moment is made from X264 content which ultimately makes the quality worse. Also since X265 is still relatively new not all machines can play it well (depending on encode), same with 4K content alot of it is just upscaled. While 4K is definetly growing & getting more common people will need 4K compatible components to watch the content or its just a waste (Example: watching 4K on a 1080p monitor), not that we really see any 4K anime content!
