Um, our script is not fan fiction you lying POS. It is very accurate, albeit with a few minor mistakes in a couple places that were discovered long after. Most of those mistakes were just typos or something misheard that actually was corrected later on.

Oh, and you're such a fucking hypocrite for uploading this.

And please enlighten us on the "fan fiction" parts.

MTBB's translations seem to fit better, as the military-oriented conversations feel appropriately more formal, while the private conversations are phrased more naturally. The translations are quite similar, but I would go with MTBB.

And having just did a first 5 minutes I can say the translations are very similar and the wording sometimes was nearly exact. @motbob - try translating a 110 episode series and get it exactly correct to the detail and match someone else's wording.

At times in that first 5 minutes I felt like I was watch our subtitles with a select few words altered(meaning the same thing or conveying the same meaning). Hmmmm. I'd be happy if Sentai was actually using ours. ADV did that with our Nadesico scripts.

You know, motbob, you should be thanking us instead of attacking us. LOGH never would have been picked up without our efforts to get it out to the anime public.

I have no comment except to say that if the script looks "the same" to you, you need to make a closer comparison. There are lines that are completely different as between Sentai and CA, so different that one of the two has to be wrong.

Mind giving an example? You apparently are an expert.

Oh, I should add that I liked a few of the CA lines' wordings and stole them for my release. So, you know, thanks.

The "small part of space" is in reference to how big space is. Up to interpretation of the translator and editor based on what we are given. Looked at lines at 1241. Same meaning, slightly different wording. We could have done better.

The Fezzan leader's(oh, on the LDs they spelled it Phezzan at one time) statement was near close to how we worded albeit slightly different. Again depends on the translation given to us and the editing we had to do.

Again, the differences in translation do not equate in any way to our translation being "fan fiction".

Fan fiction is pretty harsh but there's no doubt that your first translator was absolutely awful at Japanese. Though non-fluent TLs are not particularly unusual for fansubs this old, LOGH's nature means both that TLs with poor comprehension are unable to

figure out the correct line using context more often, and that the lines born of guesswork as a result are more likely to not even function as a rewrite. It's unwise to expect great translation out of anything anime related, especially official

1-26 were by a translator we never met in person, Banzai Georg. We edited his translation to the best of our ability. Later translations were from native speakers with native English. The poster of this download insulted our efforts. He failed.

A competent translator is the foundation of any project. No amount or quality of editing can make up for it, it's absence means immediate failure. Bad subs are not better then no subs.

You're vacillating between making excuses as to why CA's script for 001 is bad and claiming that the script isn't bad at all...

I didn't vacillate a all. I pointed out that your claim was invalid and you proved my point perfectly. You, sir, who want people to watch the new release are a pos hypocrite. To truly support the new release by Sentai you would not have uploaded it here.

I never said our script was bad. I pointed out how we might have done better in one particular place. ONE place.

It seems to be minor mistake but it's completely broken the logic of the scene. And there are about 2-3 mistakes like this / episode. That means 2-3 pointless scene/episode. I am at episode 30 though. Maybe it's just because of the 1th translater.

I hope this is worthy...

It's not worthy. But it's the best you're going to get. If you want a "worthy" version of this story, buy the official light novels.
