BTW did you use any kind of color manipulation or filter in your encode?
It looks a bit more blue than the japanese, did 4k to this?

I personally had no involvement in this one, so I don't know what was done to it. AFAIK it's just a straight, minimally processed encode.

The encoder, like me, generally doesn't feel that encoding at 1080 offers enough benefit over 720p.

Well it really depends on your distance from the screen, if its TV the difference is seamless but on PC it's noticeable. however encoding in 1080p (and good compression ratio without much quality loss) is really resource consuming, so it's understandable.

Both. A lot of anime - even theatrical - just isn't animated at such a high resolution.

@fxpijs: There was no colour manipulation involved whatsoever, the UK BD really is a bit bluer than the Japanese BD.
