Created by Mitsuteru Yokoyama (Tetsujin #28, Giant Robo, Babel II), this is the first TV series in the “magical girl” genre of anime.

It's been a while since I subtitled any episodes of this show, but I do intend to do more of the black and white episodes as time permits. If you've never watched Sally before, this particular episode is fairly typical of the early ones. It features bumbling thieves, Cub's feud with Yo-chan's triplet brothers, Sally's inability to cook without using magic, and it even has that recurring gag where Cub turns into a dog. Cute, harmless fun for the kids, with plenty of slapstick cartoon violence.
