This is 480p according to the mediainfo so yeah probably better than the SDBD for that alone (that was 480i)

Can't say as I agree, I have the Bandai dvd set and the Sentai sdbd set and the sdbd set looks better to me plus it has a much higher bitrate than the dvd.
