Notes:

  1. We have performed a complete comprehensive color-correction for the entire series, including shot-by-shot white balancing of every single episode, global hue shifts, skin tone fixes, de-bleaching, and various other fixes. Please see this document for detailed information on our color-correction process. (Night Mode Version).
  2. Video contains all previously done fixes to the Dragon Box video include IVTC, decimation, PAR correction, chromatic aberration reduction, chroma noise reduction, chroma placement adjustment, and blocking treatment/grain retention. You can read more about what this means in the merge PDF.
  3. Due to the presence of new color-corrected detail, the average bitrate of each episode was increased. This was deemed acceptable as we are treating this like a "master" release. Others are welcome to re-encode the video as they wish so long as they give credit.
  4. Episode 291 contains the GT Preview.

Notes:

  1. Japanese Broadcast Audio is sourced from Team-Mirolo's v7 release. Episode 2's cassette audio is sourced from updated recordings provided directly from Kei17 in 2025.
  2. Both Remastered FUNi dubs are retained as-is from our previous release. Episode 36 was patched to remove a line error and episode 98 was replaced with the Orange Brick track due to it being in dual mono on the official release.
  3. The Saban/Ocean Dub is a heavily edited dub of the first 67 (edited down to 53) episodes of the series. The entire track has been updated with the FUNi/Johnson track to fill any edited gaps. While great care was taken to create seamless transitions, the very nature of the edits sometimes makes this difficult.
  4. The Original FUNi Dub track has been completely re-done and uses elements from the singles DVDs as well as occasional TV and VHS recordings to present the original version of the dub as it existed before the 2007 partial redub. This dub actually begins in the middle of episode 67 resulting in a split Ocean/OG Dub track for that episode. Most episodes have NEPs pulled from TV airings, along with narration for episodes 67-69 and 172-194 with original narrator Dale Kelly. Extended versions of the Faulconer OPs and EDs are used.

  • Removed unnecessary ellipses from split lines

  • Standardized stutters (Wh-What), interrobangs (?!), and exclamation marks (!)
  1. If you don't care for stylized subs, then we have included a basic subs track as well. All of the above updates were ported over to these subs.
  2. The signs/songs track is meant for use with the 5.1 English dub and contains NEP translations.
  3. Dubtitles are designed to go with the remastered dub with replacement score, although they should mostly work for both FUNi dubs although line variations will happen.
  4. Japanese subs have been included as synced by butler.
  5. ED credits are included with each episode individually timed and styled by Ploffy.

Last year I spended much money to download the official AI upscaled Dragon Ball movies bluerays. Because 4k is globally demanded. So I may be the only person that has this. Sirs, I am disappointed because your nyaa torrents are not even in 265? Now, every experts IS DEmanding us to create AV1 and even H266 will be internationally next year so too. I've been following this project since I think it was 2018 or 2019 wen iKAOS would make like 20 or 30 episodes and upload them to here dragon box hoping praying someday you will get the complete series fixed in audio and video, the colors. Man the color and waiting for this long time

Outstanding Work!

I was looking forward to the CC video restoration for a very long time, and only half-anticipated the broadcast audio to be updated to Team-Mirolo’s v7 improvements.
I did not expect a complete overhaul of the subtitles including script translation QC fixes, full retiming, new typsetting, and redone styling to accompany it as well!
Huge thanks to the entire SoM team for the immense work that has gone into such a comprehensive release.

Plex and Jellyfin hate this release... I can't get episode numbering to properly work because the episodes are just listed in absolute values and missing a prefix E at the beginning

Just wondering how the decision was made to use new subtitles but not include the Simmons translation even just for completion's sake. I'm genuinely asking, so there's no confusion that I am being snarky, it really is just curiosity. There's all the dub tracks, even the original FUNi dub from the original singles. I know Simmons has been divisive in recent times (making my totally real clickbait youtube video titled "DRAGON BALL FANS THINK STEVE SIMMONS TRANSLATION IS TOO WOKE???" /s), but if we're including 4 separate dub tracks, I was curious why an additional subtitle track wasn't kept for completion sake. I know, "just remux it." But was curious since it's timed to the episodes already, it would be just a quick inclusion unless the timing is slightly off. Especially missing out on the "weasel's last fart" line, which I still like.

The subtitles are like 98% the same Simmons translation as before. Most of the differences are due to trying to phrase certain lines better for readability, as well as updating some of the odd translation choices and straight up errors. Regardless of anyone's nostalgia our goal was to provide better, more accurate subs. You already alluded to the solution which is that you are free to mix and match whatever elements you want.

I see there was a dragon ball blue water dub re-creation using your guys color corrected footage. Any chance you guys will do a Rock the Dragon Re-creation or Westwood dub re-creation using the color corrected footage?

Our encode of Dragon Ball z is almost done all of Season 7 has been finished season 8 is encoding and almost finished

@iKaos Yeah, I was more just wondering why it wasn't there just for the sake of completion. But yeah, I know I can just mix it in. Was just wondering why the choice was made, and if it was to provide more accurate subs, then that's fine.

There's a bunch of sync issues for JPN audio, I rewatched it and the lipsyncing and punching sounds don't match.

episode 140, 00:15:34.

it amazing , can anybody re-encode this batch to 300to 400mb per Episode ? like for us who don't have that much memory 1.1TB
