go read the novels there's a lot of information that is lost, the animation is so rushed is painful, to try to make sense of what is happening as a Donghua viewer only without the context is a lot o wasted potential in animation
Lord of Mysteries is long. Even if they keep skipping 3/4 of the original material the way they're doing, there'll be enough material for several seasons. If you really like it, do as Nikaido says and read the novel. The translation is somehow worse than MTL, especially later on, but the story's really good.
