Sorry for rushing this episode out. A few scenes in this episode would have needed some additional polishing. It is very watchable, and I would say, is still the best source you can find right now on nyaa.si, but do expect a v2 sometime in the future.
That's said, due to unrelated reasons, the next episode will be delayed. Maybe SVT-AV1-PSY v3.0.2 will be out by then and we will do a v2 for both episode 01 and 02 using the new release.

Filtering and Encoding Details

The most noticeable artefact in this anime is its strong ringing around the lines. We could not find the correct kernel for descaling. For scenes that have smaller descaling error, we use vsscale.Rescale and vsdehalo.edge_cleaner to filter the frames. For scenes that have larger descaling error, we use vsdehalo.fine_dehalo and vsaa.based_aa to filter the frames.
This anime is characterised by its heavy film grain. We opt to keep as much grain as possible during the filtering process.

For encoding, we use a modified version of autoboost to deliver a rather high quality encode. This is the SSIMU2 score of episode 01 with film grain removed compared to the filtered source:
