Hope a fansub group/anon takes a crack at giving it normal subs. Or maybe crunchy starts doing the bare minimum Netflix does with their simuldubs and having multiple english tracks (one for the dub and one for the jp audio)

Ocean Productions is subbing/dubbing the EN tracks AFAIK. CR does the other languages but is basically a distributor for the EN version.

Ah that makes it make a bit more sense I guess if CR aren't really touching the english version at all. Tho with how cheap they are I kind of wasn't surprised even when thinking it was them.

Very odd anime. You would never hit a huge spaceship with a nuke and much less on an urban area.

Ideally the show should also get an encode that splices some stuff from the dub video track (its hard subbed, certain post-prod signs look great while others are poorly typeset, so would need to mix both streams) and a quick TLC pass to clean up some of the dub-isms a little. No clue if anyone is up for actually doing it tho...

really nice first episode. i was worried about the pacing ahead of watching this, since the manga is quite lengthy, but nothing here felt rushed at all. asano's art work translates really well into animation too.

Absolute garbage subtitles.
2 Examples found in like 5 minutes of the show because I dropped this team after the second :

• The TV guy gives a number of death on the accident, the subs simply do not translate it
• A girl says to the other "let's do our best" which was translated to "girl power"
