To clarify, are these the original, uncut Japanese versions with English subs?

Looks like they included the banned "Electric Soldier Porygon/Polygon" episode, so I assume it's the original Japanese version.

how the hell are there 279 episodes when this series only have 276 or even 274 if you dont count the 2 christmas episodes the with Jynx and the one with the cave in

This batch considers Mewtwo Saga (aka Mewtwo Returns) to be 3 episodes in the middle of Johto, from OS181_J063 to OS183_J065. Can't speak to the group's reasoning, but this is why the episode count differs from the 276 count used on Wikipedia, Myanimelist and AniDB.

So you can turn MP4 into MKV without reencoding ?

MKV and MP4 are just container files, you just need to copy the streams without encoding them. Its called "remuxing".

The group's reasoning is that this is the official numbering used by distributors for the anime. Hulu, Amazon & Kids Station have used the 279 episode numbering since about 2013, Hulu a bit earlier. What fansites say (Wikipedia, MAL, AniDB) simply doesn't matter. The numbering can differ as you either include "Mewtwo! I Am Here" as 3 TV episodes (181-183), which is also what affiliate TV stations did back when the show first aired, Kids Station since they started airing the show & all streaming platforms do that have Johto. It's not incorrect, but how the series is numbered is subjective.

It’s called “translation choices”. It isn’t incorrect just because someone didn’t like it.

スピアー means Spear, but can also be a play on the Latin word for Bees “Apis”.
As in Apis <-> Spia. Get it? It’s a choice! How about reading their notes first?

Minor translation mistake I noticed.In episode 160, 9:30, Kasumi says that she wants omurice, and Takeshi answers "Then, Konohadon for me", which is another kind of japanesedish, not as well known. Then Kasumi answers "Takeshi, what is that?". In the sub, Takeshi instead says "Follow me, guys", and Kasumi answers "You know where to go, Takeshi?". In case you want to consider a correction for a future pack with the next season. Or maybe it is a pun that I am missing.

The uploader included Mewtwo Saga (three special episodes, which were aired in Japan between ep. 180 and 181).
