Description

This is v2 version of my Cowboy Bebop upload since Jysze uploaded v3. I re-encode all main episodes and mish-mash blues, These are AV1. Instead of encoding Movie and Ein's Summer Vacation i used them my older Cowboy Bebop release so these two are Hevc x265. If you have these two no need to redownload. This skip reduce to download size from 10.3 gb to 6.5 gb. Also i use ffmpeg for encoding this time not handbrake. This is my encoding settings;

ffmpeg -i "input.mkv" -pix_fmt yuv420p10le -c:v libsvtav1 -crf 31 -map 0 -preset 4 -svtav1-params tune=0 -g 240 -c:a libopus -b:a 128k -ac 2 -c:s copy output.mkv

Which version of ffmpeg? It matters. SVT-AV1 2.0.0 was released last week with API/ABI changes. SVT-AV1 2.0 has quality improvements across the board. You may have wasted your time if you encoded this with an old pre-compiled/binary version of ffmpeg that was compiled against svt-av1 1.8 or lower.

Well, not wasted, but missed the boat on basically a free quality improvement.

Also it doesn't make sense not to use grain synthesis if you're encoding with AV1... especially since it's an old anime that was digitized from analog film transfers... i.e. FILM GRAIN MANIA.

Well whatever, it's better than nothing. I'll take AV1 versions of anything as long as they are halfway decent. I'm saving so much space on my NAS swapping out old AVC stuff it's kinda ridiculous.
