This episode was also a boring slog, but finally, something is happening. Not counting the blatant cliché scene where Syplhie falls on Rudeus like in the worst ecchi anime out there, it wasn't that bad.
Probably the best episode of the season so far, and the only decent one at that.

I see a lot of frames with broken character art and weirdly drawn faces. Seems like the production is falling as the season nears the end.

It was to be expected, honestly. They have good background art but that's about it. Most scenes are static and the characters' designs are warped and ugly. It is what it is.

But afaik if they don't get a better production for the second cour, the season is doomed. Now is the time for the boring visuals, later they need good animation.

Most scenes are static

This was the biggest bummer for me. In S1 they had these beautiful intros where they showcased every city with bustling streets and full of life, all animated spectacularly.
S2 just straight up replaced all of that with stills and static images.

iirc that one sakugabooru nigga said something along these lines: they won't have as much time, budget, and talent for the next seasons so don't expect much.

It has its pretty visual moments but it's insanely toned down. At the same time, this is probably the worst arc in the series where action is just barely existent, it should pick pace starting next cour. I do enjoy the fights, quite a bit. Rudeus/Ruijerd/Eris vs. Orsted is breathtakingly beautiful to me.
