I started this project for myself shortly after HatSubs started just doing simple changes like changing fonts.

But starting with Sky Island I took it more serious, went back and made full edits and adding recaps to all episodes.
I also edited all Wano episodes up to HatSubs. Most are based on the latest revisions of leorio1009.

I retimed the Wano scripts for the BD - apart from the few that HatSubs already released on BD ( and those Stampede specials ).

I fixed everything I found while watching:
There were plenty of missing and broken lines, and missing signs.
I copied those mostly from old hardsubbed fansubs like Kaizoku, Vegapunk,Yibis, etc.

All episodes I released contain chapters with recap.

I watched up to episode 432 - so those should at least be good.
For Dressrosa & Zou I just remuxed most episodes with Yibis, they seem compatible with BD.

I cut off the Logo for 284-325 & 382-432 which were based on Judas.

Watched Movie 1-8 & 10 & 15 - but I also made new scripts for movie 1-5 based on Kaitou & Puto additionally.

493-574 are only recaps & simple edits: simple typesetting, no fine-timing, no fade-effects
788-889 are mostly simple edits as well, but the fancy episodes got a full fancy edit like 830.

I wish I had more time, but this is it.
I doubt I will find time again to keep editing.

Anyone can do with these scripts whatever they want no questions asked.

Thanks for all the praise but I can only guarantee it for episodes I watched.
350-432 had a lot of missing signs that I had to add while watching.
( 433-438 don't have any missing signs/subs so far thank god )

Watched up to 458 and made some fixes. Also edited Wano Kuni 7.

I noticed that episode 452-456 had crackling in the sound and this is a bug that was in all web-releases.
Episode 382 had the same issue but could be remuxed with Yibis audio.
452-456 WEB are not compatible with the HDTV audio unless some pro retimes the audio to the video.
At least the HDTV audio is very good unlike 382, which itself sounded slightly lossy.
Anyway, I prefer good audio over slightly lossy picture so I also retimed the subs to HDTV

There are no text overlays for those episodes apart from the TV-logo.
Anyway, take it or leave it. WEB-version certainly looks better, but for now I stick with HDTV.

I added subs to the warmap in the recap for episode 467 & 468,
but I stopped after that since it is a looot of work,
it will never look good without motion capture
and it is only in the recap that most skip on a rewatch anyway.

But I added some additional signs in a few episode which I took from Yibis.

Two big batches of 1.)Yibis font swapped
and 2.) roughly all official subs after that now all fully edited,
which I release now just in case I die or something else happens...

This should cover all episodes of One Piece.
This was a brutal crunch mass edit, so I might have missed something
or there might be some formatting errors for Yibis.
Official Subs shouldn't be worse or at least nothing missing.

Okay that concludes the epilogue to Marineford.
I fixed all errors I noticed.
Five episodes had a visual glitch, a short flash of a wrong frame for some reason.
So I made an additional version based on HorribleSubs for these episodes.

Due to those errors I decided to switch to HorribleSubs ( plain CrunchyRips ) for Fishman Island
up to episode 574. After that all episodes are available on BD.
If you want to stick with df68 30FPS you have to use my previous edits or wait for Kuro which currently works on those too.

One Piece 493-516 reworked ( Post Marineford )

I don't know what went wrong, was probably too tired to notice,
but many episodes in the previous retimed "FINAL EDIT" had not really good timing.

So I reworked them carefully and made further improvements:

  • first half is completely remade from scratch copying animated signs from the previous version
  • opening was restyled as I didn't like the colors that much anyway, now it is more neutral and brighter
  • second half was carefully retimed from my initial version with some further improvements

  • 575-578 are the filler "Z's Ambition" that are the prologue to Movie Z
  • Z Special "Glorious Island" had a missing line for mysterious reasons, so I added it back in from another release I found that still had it...

  • Adventure of Nebulandia - I previously made only a speed edit, but made further improvements

Note:

  • previews for a bunch of episodes were shorten during its TV airing,
    Yibis' version was based on those. I took the complete previews from Crunchy-Rips for those eps

  • the three filler had all shortened previews, but the Crunchy-Rips didn't have previews at all

  • therefore the filler have only the shortened preview translation that "works" but is not in sync

  • anonfiles was shut down

Okay, if it comes to bad and kinda good news...

My "fansubbing"-time ends here.

I wish I could have fully seen it through until the end, but this is where my journey ends.

But at least I reached my minimum goal.

I watched up to episode 700, so those episodes should be at least "good" no matter what.

Up to episode 686 Yibis used HDTV and still hardsubbed random signs and stuff here and there.
So those were still missing.
I added those missing signs back into the script, but about 2-3 signs are only very simple.

So I decided to at least fully edit it to the end.

I checked every episode multiple times, went through every line,
and fixed every error I could find. There is still a chance I missed something here and there...

But...
Yibis scripts are as complete as you can get. Their scripts are fully softsubbed episode 687 onward including also all animated signs.

After Yibis its all official subs only, so nothing I can add anyway.

A cheap key-frame-recut:
Those are not great, cutting videos just by splitting them at key-frames instead of using professional video-editing can result in bugs.
It's not clean, it works for the most part but can cause some flickering and jumping frames between cuts while watching.
It works fairly well with MPC & VLC - but MPV has slight issues jumping around frames for a short moment.
Just a personal project for me, but why not upload.

OVA 2 - restyled to match Vivid - still that one mediocre fansub, made some improvements, especially some earlier timing was abysmal, still not perfect but watchable

I hope some proper subs will be made for OVA2 in the future, but nothing ever happened

Had the dumb idea to edit JJK, because Kaizoku/dedsec seemed to have disappeared,
but it looks like he is still going, but anyway, ep 2-5 are fully edited and also both recaps are edited if you are interested.

Editing for the recaps is more simple, but there were a ton of signs fyling around the screen.
With the edits they are at least simple styled and in the correct place.

thanks for everything, it looks great. I'm having trouble loading the subtitles on to mpc. am I supposed to be combining these files into the episode with mkvtoolnix, or is it just one of those "switch to mpv noob, user interface isn't an important part of the video viewing process anyway" situations?

For some episodes I had the logo cut off, so you have to retime it yourself or also cut of the logo ( with mkv toolnix ):

MPV is recommended, some episodes aren't working correctly with MPC, but most do

Had more odd projects before I stopped editing One Piece recently.

With the recent release of Nanatsu no Taizai Grudge of Edinburgh
I tried to wrap up Nanatsu as fast as possible and could finish it.

If it comes to Bleach I watched up to 45 with UQW and fixed errors.
I also tried to retime Flomp to the rawJPBD, but can't finish it due the massive amount of work it takes.

I went through both projects again and cleaned up some stuff.

Anyway:

Used Anime Time for the last two seasons and the three OVA, they are the only ones that did the BD for Imperial Wrath of Gods

DrJ 09-24 were fine but looked different, so I added fonts and restyled them a bit, still not 100% perfect, but they roughly match now previous seasons.

  2. properly retimed & restyled Flomp to Japanese BD for episode 190-203, those should be okay

  4. 213&214 are not on BD or DVD so far, so Dattebayo-Cyberfreak HDTV ParanDark restyled

Sadly it is so much work to retime, I wish I could edit all, but I guess t is only matter of time until a proper release comes out.

  • it is not a 100% perfect edit as it was still a rushed project... I justed wanted to be sure to have at least a working jpBD-version for the future
  • EPISODE 001-166 from ParanDark are FULLY compatible with the BD

  • chapters for the middle part... are only mini chapters ( one marker just to skip opening and recap )

Also something I did a long time ago:

  • the 2016 OVA of Black Clover covers the same story as episode 1-3
  • so I recut the OVA moving the prologue - which is a spoiler to the "Dungeon Arc" - to the end of the episode
  • this recut is a full edit made with professional video software and not a sloppy key-frame recut
  • restyled it and added chapters
    So for my rewatch I just watch this reordered OVA instead of Episode 1-3

It is a key-frame-recut, but it works without an issue..... unless...
... unless you skip back from the ending song to the main episode, MPC has no issues at all but the picture turns grey in MPV and VLC
otherwise it works perfectly fine.

[Bejee] released a subbed version of the youtube release for Strong World Zero
I retimed my full script to the OVA.
Video quality in the beginning has a mushy moment but otherwise it is overall quite a lot better than previous DVD releases.
I left the DVD in the MKV, so this file contains both the full DVD and 1080p WEB version

Okay, so I finished Episode of Nami for o7. It's fully edited and final now.
But Episode of Luffy and the next after had all missing attack-translations.

So I will stop doing them ( for now at least ) because those recaps and the Toriko episodes are of little to no interest for me.
They are not bad, good actually, but tbh could better watch the whole arcs again that tell the story properly instead of sitting for 1.5+ hours through a weaker version.

If there is sth I will do for One Piece its the actual episodes or the movies for now.

Okay, this is pretty much my last big release.
I really put a massive amount of work into this project.
Does that mean it is perfect? No.
205 episodes of Bleach canon was quite an undertaking.

What I did for Bleach:

  • fully retimed Flomp & SGKK to jpBD
  • retimed Opening, Ending, Part A, Part B, Preview and Specials seperately
  • changed main font of Flomp & SGKK exactly to the main font ParanDark used
  • watched every episode and fixed all typos, broken lines, bugs and errors I noticed
  • 100% full chapters, precisely timed, with added markers for recaps previews and specials
  • added missing after credits gag-scenes that were different in the tv-version
  • added missing subs for previews that were not available due to changes in the HDTV airings
  • fixed all wrongly stackin lines due to wrong 0.01 second mismatch timing
  • fixed, modified & expanded flomp & sgkk signs to various degrees
  • disabled animated attack fx SGKK added during the Fullbringer Arc
  • expanded on some chapters that mixed canon into the recap:
    ( for example during Hueco Mundo Sado's fights were partly mixed into the MIDDLE of the recap )
  • added a LOT of missing signs from other releases like fansubs & official subs
  • but I couldn't restore all signs and specials signs for various reasons:
    ( there was no version that had signs translated: for example some were replaced by movie comercials )
    ( it was not worth the redundancy it or didn't fit )
    ( I am out of time )
    ( I also went back to older episodes and retroactively added some more )
  • I made a proper recut for 063-109 & 146-149 with audio adhustments for the new transitions based on the ParanDark DVD
  • I also the missing canon scenes with the script-zip seperatly as they are really short.

What I did NOT do:

  • adding back in the hardsubbed openings and endings from SGKK
  • adding back in the few openings and endings that were different on TV for Flomp

I wish I had more time to waste but that's it.
Currently it is the best and most elaborate collection of Bleach subs for jpBD
and maybe DVD
ParanDark Subs are from DVD-releases after all
and jpBD is an upscale of the jpDVD anyway
so those subs should fit the jpDVD as well
but there is a good chance it is off by 0.01-0.05 seconds

Some of the changes I made to signs were simply due to them not looking good.
For example Ichigo standing in front of the clinic and SGKK cut out his full animated head and body
It didn't look that great on HDTV and on jpBD is looked completely wrong so I made it simple.
The original version is still in the script just deactivated as I generally never deleted what is in the script, just hidden
jpDVD cut of for a few episodes like ep63 the previews and special, but the subs for those missing scenes should still all be in the script

Finally had some time and recovered some stuff.
Couldn't recover every single iteration of my edits for those episodes,
but I finished them, fixed everything I found and checked everything.

It's been so long since I actually edited them that I am not 100% sure anymore what I did with 452+453
I am no expert on video encoding, but
I encoded them from different sources and they look good and run good on MPC & MPV

They should be better than any other current release we have of these episodes right now.
I also improved on the subs and replaced the opening with a better looking one.

and 454-456 are too big for krakenfiles anyway

Alright, didn't expect it to take that long, but Dressrosa is finally complete.
( No changes to 629-700, just a re-upload )

701-751 are finally done fixing the remaining issues I noticed.

But one problem that would still remain is the timing of the hard-subbed Japanese Opening Karaoke
that is minimally different every 2-3 episodes.
So there are probably a few episodes where the English translation of the karaoke is a bit off. This was quite a pain.

I also made a better version of my Recut for the Dressrosa Filler at the end:

The previous version covered 747-751 resulting in a 12 minute episode.
I noticed that episode 746 had a teaser for the filler prologue of Movie Gold.
So I made a new recut covering every canon scene from episode 746-751:
Segment 1 = Ep 745 Part A
Segment 2 = Ep 745 Part B but cutting off the Filler at "22m 34s"

When I started Judas' BD version was the only version available.
In later episodes somewhere during Dressrosa

Alright, HatSubs released their first batch for Whole Cake Island,
so I am not sure if it still makes sense to keep spending more time on it...
The goal for my edit was always to have all other episodes to match HatSubs' style after all.

HatSubs is also working on the first half of Wano as well.

Someone also contacted me as well to use my subs, improve on them
and make his own release with proper video quality etc. for all episodes up to HatSubs.
That project will still take a lot of time, but it will come.

I did send them my current edits of Whole Cake Island,
as chaotic they may be... maybe they find some use for it.

Alright, was really busy with other stuff the last two weeks.
Today I was improving on all my Log Fishman edits and editing the new ones.
Took longer than I expected.

Hard to believe its been three weeks.
Was very busy and sick as well.
Fishman episodes are partially done, but no release today.
Just wanted to give an update.
I probably return to my early Fishman Edits and make further improvements.
Also want to make further improvements to my WHC edit.

So I hope next week with a proper release.

Finally catched up.

Improved on the early episodes as good as I could.
The animated wave effect is not perfect, but at least it is alright and wavy now.

@jcraw your DDL links for Bleach specials & recut and the restyle for 1-63 all died.. can you please post them again.. Preferably as a torrent as well so people can keep it alive? Love your work.

Never made a torrent myself. Someone else did it for me and he never came back since.
If you want you can make a torrent of my Bleach subs.

If you plan to restyle the subs be aware that ParanDark chose their font because it makes all the errors unnoticeable.
ParanDark subs are a scan of VobSubs which have a high error margin.
That is a reason why my restyle take so long as there is a loot to fix and also improve. Only first 18 episodes are done.
So I might never finish it, but who knows. I want to do it, but massive waste of time to do it instead of just watching it.

Okay, I finally found my Tongari Island edit.
I probably didn't even share it as it was "not finished".
Problem is some subtitles for the dialogue are not onscreen or half on screen.
I tried my best to make it more watchable.
Most dialogue is there. Only a few lines towards the end are incomplete, attack calls are also missing, but enough to get the story of this special.
I probably release a new version one day when I can. ( Renamed T2 as well )
