ninjastarforcex is deaf and unable to distinguish basic Japanese so they need the honorifics spelled out for them.

i think AMZN audio is better than HIDIVE

according to audiophile weebs in discord server for fansubs cartel

Amazon typically has the best audio out of all the streaming services, but they've had muffled audio for the past 2 episodes of Vinland. Not sure if it spread to other shows.

@Cavery210, You may not understand what means honorifics in japan, almost the whole story depends on how they call each other. If you ignore this, you just not understand the concept. Just a very few releaser please us to include honorifics , maybe motbob the only one who choose a different id for the sub, everyone here just mark as eng, doesn't matter signs and songs or dialogue or honorifics .It is a heartly welcomed method to keep the watchers away from a hassle to edit each files to set the desired track for default.

Thank you motbob.

ahahahahahahaha How The Fuck Are Removed Honorifics Real Hahahaha Nigga Just Listen To The Audio Like Nigga Use Your Ears Haha

@Ken-Sama, i am not deaf, just i like to read what i heard. Most of the people don't understand japanese terms. Why do you want to rip the chance from them? Haaaahaaaa....or not Hahaha?
Ooops, i forgot something about calling others "nigga". I let it to your imagination, what the next ten 4letters word could mean, but i am a modest man, so i don't write it here, you already know it......

>just i like to read what i heard
Then you should probably use japanese CCs instead of fansubs in a foreign language

@martinxk you have released mtl torrents.... You literally do not deserve the right to question real translations

@Cavery210, so do you remember me, it's great, just didn't you forgot something ? It wasn't my translation , i just corrected some grave mistakes, as i mentioned in my commment, plus i named the source too. So don't complying about when you haven't remember the whole story

One more thing: Sometimes the subs are worse than a MTL. If you watch enough anime, you could see it, I am not an english spoken person, but it seems , sometimes i know better your language than who wrote the subs. Just an example: I can do this?
Please write to me why is this question is wrong. I facing similar sentences more often today.

@martinxk Your English is so bad that you should not talk about translations or "correcting mistakes" in other people's subtitles when you're this ESL.

@ShinGLC, i should accept my sins, grammar aren't my best, but i learned a bit japanese and i never tried translate the text only, i always followed the video, to understand the story.

I can do this? Not the:Can i do this? should be correct?
As i wrote, i am living far from UK and US but you, who born there have a task to keep your language clean for the future generation.

For my last words. Google TL just as shit what you think, but it seems CR also uses an AI for TL instead of living people. You will know pretty soon

Heh, i found a new pearl.....
[SubsPlease] Isekai One Turn Kill Neesan - 02 (480p) [665ABB27].mkv
about 06:21 "...and earn EXP and mani to pay for the room..." What's your opinion ?

Pénz, Geld, Penge, Dengi, Money......

aint reading all that, but prosubs do have stinkers from time to time. thankfully these days it mostly extends to garbage shows while the actually good stuff tends to get better care

it seems CR also uses an AI for TL instead of living people. You will know pretty soon

my sides
CR may be a shitty company, but they aren't as shit as to replace their TL with fucking machines

@WitchyMary, i am sadly but agree .At last in my country we hawe a few decent subbers who TL from japanese according the original manga. The only problem is it took too much time, so i need to endure with what i can get from here.

Better shows are delayed, postponed to july, thanks COVID. Even the author of the misfit of demon school deceased, Dark future ahead....

56 comments and not a single word about Bob released a "fansub" with shitty Sentai subtitles, without any real editing work... Or the fact that the ED is not translated because nobody knows Japanese.

I miss the time when fansubs made real fansubs, instead of stealing garbage from the official sources..

Even the author of the misfit of demon school deceased

Wrong, it's only the manga artist.
LN is still ongoing, you should read some more when you see news like those

@matheousse, I meant "author" not the producer. In my country we call author, who drew the original. A manga artist.

How can Bob edit if he doesn't know basic Japanese? Have you forgotten the Onimai fiasco? Literally last month?
I recognize his ability to encode, but I have to question the rest. And you didn't answer about ending tl.

Have you forgotten the Onimai fiasco

What the fuck are you talking about? Please take your meds

How can Bob edit if he doesn’t know basic Japanese?

He does know basic Japanese. Even then, editors aren't required to speak the source language, though it can certainly help.

@LightArrowsEXE

The first one is inverted.
The second says "ounimai", which has a much deeper meaning than just a title drop. This becomes even more evident when you compare the sentimental Japanese reaction to the phrase and the way the West treated it.

There is also another problem: typesetting uses ":" while the subtitle, which says exactly the same thing, uses ",".

And Bob himself admitted that he saw no problems in that "translation" of the opening because he was unable to judge the fidelity of it.

@LoliSubs
Ah, yes, let me take a trip to Oosaka, Toukyou, or Kyouto. Extended vowels are cut from all romanized place signs in Japan, so your argument holds no weight there regardless.

Well, it's important to know your limits and not second-guess the official translation when you don't have an alternate translation source.

For this show, there were two alternate translation sources, so I was able to be more aggressive with the script.

Although I do have basic Japanese knowledge (passed N4, borderline N3), that level of knowledge is a joke compared to the translators who Sentai and CR hire, and I should never second-guess them unless my guess is verified by someone who is as competent as them.

How can Bob edit if he doesn’t know basic Japanese?

This seems like a strange question. Obviously, there are many useful edits one can make to a script without changing the meaning of the lines.

@Shirotsumekusa
I believe they are not cut off, but omitted with "ō". However, I am saying that the sentence should have been translated, not kept in romaji.

@motbob
" that level of knowledge is a joke compared to the translators who Sentai and CR hire"

I believe that with an N5 you are already more competent than Jeniffer Challenger. If you are not illiterate, maybe with N3 you are already able to do a better translation than Jake's.

It seems a funny argument, I know only 10 japanese characters , but there was one of them. Ni(2) How to read, i hve no a slighest idea. Do you know, even you have no idea what the kanji means, red courtain means woman, blue means man. It is so simple.

Well, at any rate, I think this release is a significant improvement over Sentai in multiple ways, and if people aren't satisfied with that, they can wait for the upcoming alternate fansub release.

@LoliSubs Fair enough. (And sorry for the knee-jerk aggression.) Translating the names of cities/places is a really difficult line to tread. I generally agree with that approach, but it's a situation with no winners. Someone else would be complaining if it were translated.

Unfortunately the English-language fansub scene is dead. Stealing official subtitles is easy.
By the way, I'm picking on you solely for not putting effort into Onimai and disrespecting the work. Subtitles are a mistake, so it would be better if you focused your efforts on encoding.

I will make just one more comment:
Sentai:This story is a work of fiction.
Motbob: What you're about to watch is a work of fiction.

Making up translation in the very first line of the episode is something I would expect coming from GJM fanfics, not from you.

So, as far as that goes, the original "joke" in the manga—or rather the thing that made the opening of the manga so clever—was that it played off the Japanese version of the phrase you see so often in Western media: "This is a work of fiction. Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events, is purely coincidental." Google この物語は フィクションである for more information. Because that's the whole joke, it makes sense to write a line that echoes the Western equivalent of the phrase as closely as possible.

I was frustrated by that line and didn't know what to do with it because the joke was a lot more obvious in the manga—I didn't have to look up the Japanese to understand what it was trying to do—but it kind of doesn't make any sense as the opening narration to an anime (at least, imo).

With all due respect, but allow me to correct you: "it makes sense to write a line that echoes the USA equivalent".

@LoliSub

Unfortunately the English-language fansub scene is dead. Stealing official subtitles is easy.

Welcome to 2015. Actually, kinda weird to complain about that now since we have probably been getting more OTLs than ever before compared to the past decade, since GJM only does original translations these days.

If GJM does their own translations, I am a refrigerator. They basically write fanfics.

I'm still waiting to hear what drug they were using when they came up with a "translation" for Aquatope's ED.

GJM song tls go through extensive editing for the sake of turning them into singables, which might hurt the 'literalness' of the translation.

It might work in a dub, but they work with subtitles. They are completely different proposals, with completely different audiences.

Using Lawrence Venuti's vocabulary, I would say that subtitles should be "foreignization", while dubbing is "Domestication".

I think putting subs into that box is a shame. It can absolutely swing between heavily foreignised and heavily domesticated, and I, at least personally, think it's much more interesting to not view it as a "should" but as a "how well do they accomplish the translation's goal?" That's just me, though.

@LightArrowsEXE

All right, but can you explain to me why someone who watches anime would want to sing a song in English? And how exactly will they sing it if the "translation" adds lines that don't even exist in the original?

Even the most "egregious" fansub translation wouldn't necessarily fall under full domestication, given they don't even adapt the names or any other big cultural elements (though that'd be cool if the case) other than honorifics, which is more of a linguistical choice than necessarily cultural. Your opinion is also not exactly shared among a lot of fansubbers.

can you explain to me why someone who watches anime would want to sing a song in English?

That's not necessarily the point of a singable, but certainly a consequence of it. It simply feels more natural to read a translation of a song, which you're listening to, that is itself lyrical and matches the song in question.

There's also the obvious point that, writing a singable in of itself, is fun and an interesting skill to develop. Fansubbing is first and foremost done out of passion, and people want to have fun doing it. Developing new standards to reach has always been something fansubs always do.

@Aikawa
Amazon's audio is a lot better, yeah. Hidive is pretty meh, because of the 14 kHz (?) cap. Audio bitrate isn't everything that matters.
For the video Disney+ is the better choice, if there is no day one released planned. Imo worth the one day wait tho.

A good translator can make it singable without having to make up a fanfic.

"and people want to have fun doing it."
After a decade of suffering, I am forced to disagree with that part. It is impossible to do a good subtitle these days, especially in English, which is an incompatible language with Japanese and does not translate well.

Yoko Hasegawa's book is quite interesting in this respect, especially the part that talks about "Evidentiality and egocentricity". The dependence of the English language on always indicating the subject and pronouns creates a conflict with Japanese prose.

Indeed, japanese and english proses aren't the same. This is why when writing in english... we use english prose. A novel idea, I know.

Or maybe translate it into a more compatible language? Crazy, right? Or maybe not translate, it makes sense, right?
The best animes are those without subtitles.

My last words for today, bcs i am a bit sleepy . Not enough just respect the others? Giving a decent TL ignoring the original source? I respect all you people who want to improve our satisfaction to enjos these shows. Worse or better, if someone put in an effort to improve it. It must be gladly welcome. I hope you guys can have a decent sleep too, don't argue too much or in the next morning you could look out as i am now.

I forgot that an anime being translated automatically has its quality decreased(?). No wonder anime sucks these days with everything getting translated!

@LoliSub: how exactly will they sing it if the “translation” adds lines that don’t even exist in the original?

What did he mean by this

The best animes are those without subtitles.

Then watch anime without subs. Why go on this long of an argument for something you have no stake or investment in? I know it's the internet, but if this is your ultimate conclusion, you wasted your time more than everyone else wasted theirs replying to you.

All right, but can you explain to me why someone who watches anime would want to sing a song in English?

Song translation is itself a whole art that is not a straightforward approach. Generally speaking, a lot of the most successful song translations have had to bridge the gap between retaining as much nuance and meaning as possible within the original verse and prose while also making sure their translation connects with their audience - the people who speak the language they do and do not understand the original language the song is being sung in. Providing literal translations for songs does not work, and even a cursory analysis of how poetry, prose, and songwriting works will make this blindingly clear. There are also a number of popular song translations that have been criticized to some degree for how many liberties were taken to translate the song. Translation isn't simple, and song translating absolutely isn't as straightforward as you make it out to be.

So that one day what I feel now can guide me

@LoliSub dawg, I just act annoying in nyaa comment sections why are you reciting poetry at me + people should actually watch this release and point out errors and flaws in these comments rather than having this dumb argument

@Cavery210 I pointed out a error: they didn't translate the ED, so it should be categorized as v0.

And anyone knows that editing Sentai subtitles is suicide.

Hidive subs aren't even that bad dawg, they have some typos and potentially a few tl errors, but they're normally pretty professionally made, including for OnK

Hidive subs aren’t even that bad dawg,
You have never watched anything "translated" by Jeniffer, right?

I believe Oshi was translated by (not)Jake, however he is inconsistent...sometimes he makes up fanfic, sometimes he leaves random Japanese terms in the subtitles — his translations are usually rough and clearly lack editing work. Hidive also has bad encoding, bad timing and bad typesetting. He should be ashamed to work on this.

You list "bad encoding, bad timing and bad typesetting" as if it's his fault that hidive is shit, besides, the way this reads, it seems like you haven't watched the episode yet, since you say things like "sometimes he makes up fanfic, sometimes he leaves random Japanese terms in the subtitles" without stating clearly if it applies to this show in particular. I'd recommend watching the episode first with his subs (if you haven't already), and then coming up with specific complaints about them.

You list “bad encoding, bad timing and bad typesetting” as if it’s his fault that hidive is shit,

Read again, friend. I didn't say it was his fault, but that he should be ashamed to work for a bad company.

recommend watching the episode first with his subs

I need to see a CR subtitle before I can say it's bad, but I don't need to see a Sentai subtitle to say it's bad.

By the way, Bob, according to the official website "B-Komachi" should be hyphenated.

I need to see a CR subtitle before I can say it’s bad, but I don’t need to see a Sentai subtitle to say it’s bad.

I too enjoy headcomping if the subs for a show will be good without looking at them first

People don't do fansubs because the prosubs are bad lol. You assume fansub in this day and age is out of necessity, when that's something that died long ago with CR going official. The quality of the prosubs doesn't really matter all that much (aside from utility needs).

Fansubs are the only way to watch seasonal anime — more for the quality of the encode than the subs — but some of them (GJM) may be worse than the official ones in terms of subtitles.

However, in my honest opinion, the world would be a better place if everyone watched anime without subs.

Most fansub encodes are literally worse than web-dls lol

I'm talking about real fansubs, not random ones that just steal official subtitles and throw in 300mb videos. Unfortunately you can count on your fingers how many groups in the world do a decent job.

Gonna need some popcorn for this one.
The comment section, I mean.

the world would be a better place if everyone watched anime without subs

this mf really just stated that the world would be better if everyone watched anime without understanding what is being said LMAO

After coming back to this comments section I have made a conclusion that should be regarded as truth tbh.

I hate pedos.

The amount of projection Oosik does in Nyaa comments is even more egregious than that one guy with the green avatar who keeps calling every anime shit. Seek therapy, that way when you end up hurting someone IRL there will be a convenient paper trail for the authorities to analyze.

Anyway, just watched the episode. It was good! Interesting stuff, could be a bonafide anime of the season contender. For such an outlandish premise, it's surprisingly emotional. It really did need its full length to develop the episode properly too; more shows could stand to learn from that.

The only people who react to one off statements of hate are usually the people who fit that description.

"One off" means ranting on almost every torrent about how much you hate "trannies", "pedos", "retards", "faggots", etc.. Telling how you randomly bring up "pedos" for a completely random show after a discussion that has nothing to do with that. I hope you don't live near any children; I'd be concerned about their safety with an unhinged lunatic posting online. Again, strongly recommend therapy so the FBI has a case file on how dangerous you are. How many times does a one-off statement have to be made before it stops being one off, by the way? Two? Three? Five? Ten? Fifty? A hundred? Let me know. Incidentally, I have this one-off ritual where several times a day, I consume food and drink water in order to stave off hunger and thirst. It's just a one-time thing that I do several times a day every day, though. That's not called a habit or a common occurrence or anything, it's just a one-time thing (that I do several times a day) (every day).

To clear this up, the Japanese Understander here that 50 replies ago stated "I will make just one more comment", is fundamentally arguing that Japanese should only be translated to a universal language that doesn't exist (presumably thanks to the above poster's deity). You're welcome.

Hilarious that you all spent 135 collective comments arguing about an actual pile of garbage pseudo-isekai TRASH as if it even deserves 1/10th of the effort put into this release.

Go watch Perfect Blue if you want something good around the same theme.

My opinion on Aquatope's ED (it was really the 1st OP) has shifted from "this was dumb because they rewrote half the song" to "this was dumb because they rewrote half the song before seeing the visuals." Some of the axed Japanese lines ending up pairing better than GJM's highly interpretive lyrics.

i.e. "Watching a world arise out of the fog" is incongruous with a phantasmic whale shark swimming through azure skies.

@Guncannon I recently read that a good translator needs to consume the work completely twice before translating, because then he will be able to understand what he is doing. First to know the work, then to imagine how he will translate it.

If anyone knows the origin of the quote, I'm glad because I can't find it.

There's no notification feature in this website, how do you keep replying to each other for hours/days? do you bookmark this page and check for replies every hour or so? bruh

I have just one though in my mind. Almost all TL reduced to TL the text only, no one watch the show. Blindly use of copy/paste...But the most annoying, including my own country, when someone didn't speak his very own language. I prefer hungarian subs, because, i can read much faster than any other. Let me say it. I never faced so bad translation like a hungarian Sometimes i switch back to english, bcs i don't want to vomit from my own language . Sometimes the wrong word order are annoying , a bit, my language a bit different so not a big deal. Plus, somehow hungarian and japanese have a few common .Names, What i most hates to reverse the names order. Why you english spoken people want to defy other cultures? There are about 7 billion people in this world. 2 billion speaks chinese, 1 billion speaks hindi, other 4 billion speaks other 250 languages, Even in USA are people who speak only spanish.
Here, 2-3 groups doing almost decent subs, only one translate the original, others uses english source. All the others are a piece of garbage. I guess i can speak and write english 200% better than these guys use hungarian. I translated some anime. Ghost in the shell and The irregular at magic highschool. From english to hungarian according to the japanese original. It wasn't MTL i did it by hand and brain. I have a friend from UK, if i am not sure ,i could get some help. Ahhhhhh i woke up too early, this is the result

Oops, it was a 144th comment, it is a nice number: 12x12 Now we are on an equal square. For US people, good afternoon or good nighr. Here 07:09 AM

aftermoon :) it sounds funny

I was here.

Also, getting worked up over a TL of a cartoon. You guys sure does have a lot of time in your hands. I may be finicky when it comes to the TL/localization, but I can trust bob to do a decent job working on both scripts to end up into a better one, or at least something that makes sense.

i agree with interrupter, this show and manga are dogshit. aka is a hack. art looks a lot better animated tbqh tho.

@Interruptor Perfect Blue is great, but I somehow doubt that the two works are equivalent experiences, all in all...

Could have spent all of your time spewing buzzword drivel about something you don't like instead saying anything interesting about the few things you do like. Nobody likes negative nancys who have nothing of substance to say.

Why? I find it pretty boring to praise stuff that I actually like, I just like it, what else is there to say? Calling bad stuff out, on the other hand... that's way more interesting and easier.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-R25XMed6Q take this as a more elaborate critique of episode 1. It's essentially better than what actual (positive) drivel I've read everywhere else on the net about this show, anyway.

Most official subs and all fansubs (Kaleido-subs, GJM, Coalgirls, and Commie only) are officially retarded crazy as fck who never add/fix/change some subs:

Here list reason subtitle:

  1. Missing character's name
  2. Big Brother, Big Sister, etc (including honorific) are missing
  3. Some subs are wrong. For example: Subs says "How?" And original Japanese dubs says "What?"
  4. Other some subs are wrong. For example: Subs says "Hi, Fran." And original Japanese Dub says "Fran." what the fuck is this?

Most official subs and all fansubs (Kaleido-subs, GJM, Coalgirls, and Commie only) are too ignorant who never listen to Japanese Dub of course they are fcking Anti-Japanese Culture.

Anyone who tried it about subtitle then I will steal it from them. So they will never upload it again. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Of course I'm gonna declare war against Kaleido-subs, GJM, Coalgirls, and Commie over mistaken subtitle 💁💁💁

In discord, LightArrowsEXE kicked me out of his group chat because he's afraid of me. Oh yeah I'm trolling him because he's failure as fck. 🤣🤣🤣💁

In the next 10-20 years in the future, fansubs are unable to making subtitle for anime because they have Artificial Intelligence can translate it to English so no one fuck Artificial Intelligence anymore. 🤣

@Interruptor

AnimeSnob in current year

That guy got laughed into obscurity half a decade ago and for good reason. If this is a high-effort troll because you somehow guessed I would remember this guy, I applaud you. In any case, he has always been an absolute pseud, and after watching that video it is clear that he has not changed whatsoever. If this somehow is not a troll, then I am blown away that you can stand to listen to this guy, and not at all surprised by your lack of insight into anything you seemed to dislike and how obnoxious you acted in any server we have shared.

I just like it, what else is there to say

Brainbroken, just utterly brainbroken.

Not that anyone cares. Theres two styles when translation is done. The total localization to the target language , or the minimal literal translation to the target language that makes the piece of fiction watchable in that language while keeping the original jokes and innuendos, and keepin honorifics and name order etc.

I much prefer the latter i want to watch it closer to original as possible. Ofc that would be learning Japanese , but thats like another level.

Still i think that theres space for both styles. just different audiences

Moelancholy I still like you and respect your fansubbing efforts, even if you (mistakenly) disagree with me. It's gonna be okay.

@matheousse keep crying yourself because you don't know everything so go buy ticket and go to Russia and join military before go war with Ukraine then you'll realize you'll be fucked up by dangerous weapon. 🤣🤣🤣💁💁💁💁

Good Morning, Everyone! Great comment session... Let's hope that next week our friend Bob will release a 100% translated episode, including ED, and fix "B-Komachi".

I hope he translates the title as well. My friend Herkz said that there is no room for Japanese words in an English sub.

"It’s time for us to declare war against Fansubber. 🤣🤣💁"

Ok sisters, what if.,.,. We use chatgpt to translate anime? I think this will be better than Google Translate.
You don't need to wait for english version like evangelion, just extract the text and ask chatgpt to translate it for you, [CHATGPT] supremacy :O

I’m happy to know that your mudhut didn’t crumble down this night, my brazilian friend.

Wow, that was rude, but I am happy to know that you also survived, my Brazilian friend.
How do you think the translation of the title "Oshi no Ko" should be?

fix “B-Komachi”.

wtf you mean lmfao
MangaPlus uses "B-Komachi" while Seven Seas uses "B Komachi", it literally doesn't change anything about the show, it's just a spelling difference you moron

How do you think the translation of the title “Oshi no Ko” should be?

If you held a gun to my head and made me choose, I'd go with "Star Child" so as to avoid spoilers.

you moron

I just think the right thing to do should be to follow what it says on the official website. There is no need to be aggressive.

Have you ever considered working on Kimetsu no Yaiba?

I can't watch more than 10 minutes of that show without wanting to jump in a lake, so no.

I hope he translates the title as well.

I'm curious what you think the title should be translated as... Here's a quote from the official manga on the decision to keep the title as 【Oshi no Ko】 in English:

The title 【Oshi no Ko】 has been left untranslated from the Japanese because the phrase can have multiple meanings depending on context. "The girl who's my favorite performer," "The girl who's a fan of my favorite performer," and "The child/children of my favorite performer"—among others—are all valid interpretations.

I’m curious what you think the title should be translated as…

It's funny to use the English manga to defend something, especially when professional subtitles usually dismiss anything related to the translated manga. I don't see anything complex that would prevent a translation. It's so simple.

I must even say I quite liked our friend Bob's idea.

Fwiw in multiple non English official localizations the title is "My Star".

Wait why am I being serious in this thread when it's already entirely shat up by jungle dwellers?

I just think the right thing to do should be to follow what it says on the official website. There is no need to be aggressive.

Japan has never been a good source of romanizations lol
If an official English release, and is probably the most widespread option given that M+ is simulpub, is using B-Komachi then it is fair to use that spelling instead of whatever the dumb Japanese decided it should be

@LoliSub Just for curiosity sake, what would be the proper translation for "逢二妹" in you opinion?

I always download the version with the most comments. Thank you for making my choice easy this time.

@LoliSub Just for curiosity sake, what would be the proper translation for “逢二妹” in you opinion?

Honestly, you should ask CR's "translator" — she was paid to "translate".
However, if I were translating into English, I would probably leave literal "two little sisters meeting" and send a message to my editor, telling him to do his job.

If I were translating into Portuguese, which is a superior language, I would use "Duas Irmãs (Two Sisters)", referring to a real town called "Dois Irmãos (Two Brothers). It makes sense because 二妹 is clearly a hint to the second season, and could easily be the name of a real station. It's not perfect, but it's more appropriate than leaving random Japanese words in the middle of the subs.

Luckily, I am neither the translator nor the editor, so I don't have to worry about that.

@LoliSub Quando sai a versão BR? ;)

Legenda é coisa de fracassado.

Kelaedo-subs is officially retarded who never change it from Teacher to Master because Official anime confirmed his name is Master, not Teacher.

Teacher and Master may be the same but different.

*Teacher = Elementary School, and High School except College School (they don't call them Teacher but call them Professor because they're college students)
*Master = Swordsmanship, and some sports

Anime title: Tensei Shitara Ken Denshita (Reincarnated as a Sword)
Anime official website: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=24757

Kaleido-subs is not smart as fuck! Of course Kaleido-subs is anti-Japanese culture but Pro-English Culture 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@omnipotent500 why do you have such strong opinions about localization in a language you dont even speak?

@Ocee I'm against some official subs and some fansubber (GJM, Coalgirl, Commie, and Kaleido-subs) over mistaken subtitle of course I'm declaring war against them 🙃🙃🙃

@omnipotent500 you haven't answered the question, read again
"why do you have such strong opinions about localization in a language you dont even speak?"
answer the question, don't start talking about war

I, in fact, do care!
Why haven't you still answered though, it's a simple question after all

why do you have such strong opinions about localization in a language you dont even speak?

However, if I were translating into English, I would probably leave literal “two little sisters meeting” and send a message to my editor, telling him to do his job.

Stick to the day job, amigo 👍

So, looking at the problems raised by Puddi in that article, let's take a look at which were addressed in my release:

Italics: ✅
Typos: ✅ (caught the one mentioned in the article and 2-3 others, missed one at 17:42)
都合の悪い部分はきれいに隠す: ✅ (Probably? We have the phrase "neatly covered up," which addresses puddi's concern about きれい.)
"Idol DVD": ❌, but I want to point out that it would be weird for a doctor to play any personal DVD in a patient's room.
本当にうちの子になりませんか?: ❌, but I understood the point of the line as written. It had the intended emotional impact for me.
死ぬ: ✅
Hey, do you share the same fate as me?: ✅
sensei: ✅
precocious baby: ❌, but I actually really liked hidive's evolution from precocious baby to Precocious Baby to just Precocious. I won't change this for batch.
Numbers: ❌, but who the fuck cares lmao.
No question mark: ✅
A chain of ", and"s: ❌ (I definitely should have fixed this, especially considering who's speaking).
That's not an em-dash: ✅
I too, Enjoy... Capitalizations...: ❌ (Seems that sophrology shouldn't be capitalized).
Weird aversion to using contractions: ✅
Who says "I would venture to say" after the thing they've ventured to say?: ❌ (ehhh, I don't really hate the line that much, but I agree that something else would be better.)
Baby skulls: ✅
I actually can't help this line at all: ✅ (though some people might disagree that my fix was adequate)
My kingdom for some commas: ✅

So that's overall a pretty good score. And of course there were various other improvements made to the script that weren't covered in the article, including a TL fix at 35:14.

@LoliSub You can't be serious right now. If you think GJM is so bad then why did you screencap a tweet from one of its members to attack bob?

@Shadowfury It was not to attack Bob, but to prove my innocence... I hate GJM, but I am forced to agree when their opinion meets mine — Sentai sucks and the translation should be done from scratch.

@Cavery210 shut up. Go to Russia and join military before you are going to war with Ukraine then you'll be fucked up. 🙃🙃

What's wrong with that? Actually most anime just follow manga pretty close. For an instance (Spring 2023) - Jigokuraku. This is actually manga panel-by-panel converted into animation. You could transcribe VIZ and no one would even fucking notice lol.

Oh, and VIZ is better than actual "fansub" edits. Let's keep going with Jigokuraku 03.

There's no rhyme or reason to the species\Nand natural habitats of the plants growing here.
It's unnatural.

VS.

Much better. No idea why it's supposedly bad to use manga TLs.

But hey, Fyurie has an extra Y chromosome, so that's no surprise. Welp, GJM staff looks downright retarded, if you ask me.

Regards, you fuckers.

@omnipotent500 I will join the military only once you manage to write one non-ESL sentence (never happening)

I became very distressed when I comped my encode to Setsu's and thought it looked much worse. But then I realized I was comping my AV1 version.

So no, the AV1 version wasn't better.

edit: I don't condone attacks against Motbob, even though he banned me from his server for saying Oregairu is shit, I still respect him a lot.
He just needs to stop gulping down the wataru watari kool-aid...

Only 12 more comments until this torrent reaches the 2nd most commented spot (motbob will delete this torrent after the batch anyways smh)

we're only 10 comments away from beating dragon ball's autism score guys! fight on fight on!

oshi no kope and ceethe!

Well this is a mess, and I gave up reading it all at comment #100…

Anyway, thanks MTBB, I always appreciate the inclusion of an honorifics track.

and that's 300, I'd like to thank my nigger LoliSub for shitting up the comments so much that we reached 300, as well as omnipotent500 for being an annoying ass Jeet who also somewhat helped in inflating the comment count to get me here today
