In regards to my 720p encodes, I don’t do “mini” encodes. Butteraugli variance retains as much detail as possible within reason. My 720p encodes target balanced settings. If you see compression artifacts in my 720p av1 encode not present in the source, let me know and I'll do a v2.
v2: Turns out if you use cpu-3, you get improvements to cdef which could help with lines, edges, artifact reduction.
