@njord You're using a seriously busted player if it actually works that way. A player should never let a subtitle track determine things like that.
Whatever you're using, switch to literally anything else.
VLC lasts for 1 hour for me. Sure enough, its 24:10 in MPC-HC.
Doesn't actually play for an hour, but shows one hour in the controls/displays

For anyone curious, download MKVcleaver and MKVToolNix. Rip the subtitles with MKVcleaver, edit them in notepad++ and stitch back together with MKVToolNix.
