Description

Full batch of the Monogatari series. This is the only full-series batch with consistent terminology throughout the series.

As an example of why that's important, in episode 3 of the series, a certain park name appears and a certain character uses her catchphrase for the first time. The translation of the catchphrase becomes very important in episode 52 of the series, and the translation of the park name becomes important in episode 89 (!). This release gets those translations correct from the beginning. There are other merits to this release over the other batches on nyaa, but I won't talk your ear off about them.

The folders are ordered in what is probably the best watch order for the series (i.e. the order the original novels were released in), but you can watch in whatever order you want—it won't significantly affect your experience. Don't agonize over it.

There are alternate honorifics tracks in this release. Set your media player to play "enm" language tracks by default to automatically play honorifics tracks.

Playlist with episode titles for the whole series
To override the muxed (osc-)title with the playlist one, install this LUA script and add the following line to your mpv.conf:

The name of the park is connected to the reason why the town harbors and attracts strong oddity energy, as the shrine was moved from its original location (the park) to where it currently resides (on top of the mountain).The name of the park is connected to the name of the current-day shrine.

The default style of Nekomonogatari Black is still wrong. The border is noticeably thinner.

i hate to be that guy, but i also love to be that guy. so here are some minor nitpicks. so far catchphrases have been consistent (though it's entirely possible i may have missed an inconsistency), but in nise oddities are referred to as simply "the supernatural" multiple times, and dramaturgy is spelled "dramaturgie" in ss. currently on neko white ep4. i also noticed one grammar typo but i forgot where it was, bummer. will update if i notice anything else despite it literally not mattering.

Oh, wow. I was in the proccess of organizing different releases' folders and clearing endless clutter in a neverending back and forth with wikipedia when I found this. Nyaa's trusted green is a great filter, but I feel there should be a golden level for eye-watering complete batches like this. Thanks.

Don’t watch this version for Kizumonogatari as it’s missing the original 5.1 channel audio mix and only uses the downgraded 2.0 version. If you want a multi-channel audio version, use Lulu’s re-release with MTBB’s subs. https://nyaa.si/view/1453813

how to hardcode the subs?
I miss a frame, so I go back 2 seconds, and the softsubs dont have enough time to render. so I have to go back 5 seconds instead.
I pause on a frame, when I play to go to next frame, the subs dont render till 2 seconds later so I have to go back 5 seconds instead.
this is infuriating. I miss it when everything was hardsubbed.
so anyone got any tool to hardcode the subs?

@Muchachaka to hardcode subs you would need to transcode or re-encode with subs baked in. If you are going to do that you might as well get a remux of the series, rip the subs from these, then do the encodes from there by combining remux with subs. Alternatively, just find a source where someone already did the hardsub encode, like the groups that do 720p MP4 encodes.
