I think this encode turned out really good, partly because I learned a lot over the last 6 months and partly because I did research on what other encoders were doing for this movie. Hopefully I can redo the Alicization encodes in the future to look this good, but in the meantime, I recommend downloading [sam]'s.

Please leave feedback in the comments, good or bad.

@alucardo progressive is the Aincrad arc, just going level by level properly. It's a softish reboot? There's quite a bit of SAOP in the Alicization anime for example. This movie is from Asuna's perspective though, something we've never had for the beginning.

^ this is what people told me about gun gale online and it was unbelievably shit (even though it was written by the dude behind Kino No Tabi) so yeah, I doubt it's anywhere near mediocre.

I'd still prefer a full length, no punches pulled, any cours necessary Progressive anime. Movies are just too far apart from each other, and it takes 6mo minimum to get to local cinemas here.

Is the audio actually different on the 7.1?
I was planning on watching these subs with Beatice's release.

It depends on your setup. If you have at least a 5.1 setup (which is nowadays not that uncommon, wireless rear speakers makes it a lot easier than a wired setup) then you benefit from the 5.1 or 7.1 audio. Afaik, mpv can't playback true Dolby Atmos, so in the end it's "just" 7.1. Having a real 7.1 setup is probably rare, but I know a lot of people with true 5.1 (including myself). Yeah, I'm probably doing the same, watching it with Beatrice.

It is possible to passthrough Dolby Atmos from Windows to your soundsystem. Alternatively, you can play the video directly in Plex on an Nvidia Shield or similar device.Either way, offering only 2.0 is stupid.
