Actually, it's not. It looks better than Crunchyroll with less file size and twice the resolution: https://slow.pics/c/7Zv5ZhwA
And the result is the same with better upscalers like nnedi3, ravu etc.
B-Global has less artefacts, less aliasing and more details in action scenes.

B-Global H.264 is better than B-Global HEVC? I don't mean this anime specifically, but in general.
Also on the example of Sono Kisekae Ningyou and Arifureta 2nd Season, B-Global has much better english subtitles compared to Crunchyroll.

1080p, yes. The h264 looks better overall.
2160p, probably the same. I haven't compared it myself, but in varyg1001's comparison the h264 version looks better indeed.
If you want better results with h265, then the file size isn't actually that much different to h264. You have to turn off a lot of x265 "optimizations".
Also, their h265 version is 8bit as well, so one of the main benefits using it is gone.

Also, having 4k native means that we can get better a 1080p version

because (downscale 4k native webrip to 1080p) is suppose to look better than 1080p native webrip

Well, this show isn't native 4k. The upscale is done by bilibili. However, it seems that they are using a decent one, so the downscale turns out fine.
