Why not use Yellow-Flash's BD release then? They at least made an effort to try and correct the 0.88 gamma bug.

On its own, yes. But it isn't that bad with corrections to work around the actual issue.

imo BD > web for any animation corrections.
it's not just the gamma. it has less detail and also insane banding.
Sounds like splicing in the animation corrections (if any) would be an interesting and fairly simple encoding project.
The number of animation corrections is hardly that important. Most of the time they are barely noticeable.
