Pretty easy when Beatrice uses its shitty spline -- > rescale script that causes ringing in the lineart. There are some things that bitrate can't fix.
Note that I've got no skin in the game here, no encoding pride to defend. I used mawen's encodes. Pretty embarrassing for Beatrice that encodes from 2014 do a better job of AA/deband on this show!
Better filtering is all for naught when you ruin the video by starving the shit out of it.
And high bitrate is all for naught when it preserves a shitty filtered source.
Go get Deadnews to redo the bake encodes with competent lineart filtering (and maybe stronger debanding), and then use those encodes. Until then, mawen's the best option.
Still less shitty than mawen, Pretty embarassing for mawen that encodes with borked filtering ended up looking better.

Beatrice better on AA while deband process not good while MTBB good in deband but have some AA's problem
@naiyas, This is quite possibly one of the worst comps I have ever seen posted on Nyaa. The first set of images aren't even on the same frame and all of the frames are bright. Not to mention that you threw in an obligatory panty shot in there for no reason at all. Please learn how to make a proper comparison.

At this point I am not sure whether or not you are viewing a completely different release ! I mean, just because Mawen was competent enough and didn't bloat his encode needlessly that made it a mini encode !?
DeadNews encode is pretty good itself - better than a lot of other encodes - but mawen did it better, if at least the size difference wasn't so significant between the two releases, and since I don't give a sh*t about introduced sharpening, name tags, or the urge to grab whatever fills my HDD to the brim.
