Description
[LBA] = "Low Bandwidth Anime" using Subsplease source
Continuing my previous efforts from [QCE] but with faster internet this time (full episode in ~30 seconds, unless you can't dl that fast)
I do x264 AAC 720p re-encodes at small file sizes for those with bandwidth limits, now with English hardsubs in mp4 format. The goal is to be one of the smallest file sizes but maintain quality levels decent enough that an average viewer won’t notice. Feel free to compare it with another 720p and let me know what you think
I won't be doing all shows, but might consider taking requests on discord depending on how busy I am

Thanks for the new episode! If you don't mind me asking, was this encoded using ffmpeg/handbrake? I'm thinking of re-encoding some of old series that I have to save some HDD space but not sure what tool I should use..
You're welcome! You can actually use pretty much any well-known tool because it's the settings that matter and not the program itself. FFMPEG and handbrake are both fine. Even something as old school as MeGUI will work, as long as it is capable of applying the right settings on the encode. So it's really just a UI preference more than anything. Unlike some other groups, you can see all the settings I used for my encode using MediaInfo, so feel free to play around with the settings to get something you like
Hi again and thanks a lot for the suggestion! I tried with both Handbrake and MeGUI and got great results, and thanks as well for keeping the encoding settings it really helped too. I'm still doing some trial and error but everything looks good except I still haven't figured out why the subtitles don't have the original font. For your encode do you use external subtitles or just the extracted subtitles that comes from the source? (sorry for asking again, hope you don't mind!)
Oops nevermind my comment above, apparently I didn't install the font correctly lol. Anyway, thanks for the help and I look forward to your future encodes!
Thanks for 720p and small file size. <3
