Ghibli know how to properly scan films.
Very different from the junk we are getting for many old anime series.

Tried this release, the sub styling is nice but I'm sorry to say the translation quality isn't very good. Instead, I recommend a release with the official subs, which are fine. Anime Land (https://nyaa.si/view/876067) has the original PGS subs; Anonymoose (https://nyaa.si/view/715733) uses the original script with (apparently) minor edits. The size of the Anonymoose subs is way too small for me, so I would personally go for Anime Land.
