SubsPlease is just a direct rip from Crunchyroll. Video-quality-wise it's... identical because it's literally the same file... but the subtitles have been DRASTICALLY overhauled because the official translation is EXTREMELY stiff. (Well, to be fair, a decent number of lines here have been just lifted from the also official but vastly superior manga translation by Stephen Paul.)

Official falls under "Technically correct but sounds super unnatural." Whereas we looked at the Japanese term used and tried to find a more natural way to express the same idea and I would argue we made it far better in the process.

Do u remember which encode / raw Yibis was using back in the day? hevc or 1.4GB CR isn't for me tbh.

Yibis, for much of its lifetime was using its own encodes made by SockPain. After that we just switched over to using the raw 720p footage from Crunchyroll. I will say though, if you get mkvmerge then it wouldn't be difficult to just move these subs over to a smaller encode.

for the next future releases, is it possible to trim that toei's intro and use OP kfx from [Kaerizaki-Fansub]?

I'd rather not want to put more workload on HatSubs tbh.
We already got something really special here and I don't want them to burn out.

Right now the subs are compatible with all other web releases and reencodes as well,
so anyone who wants to remux HatSubs with their preferred mini-encode or raw can do it easily with mkv-merge.

Just to remove the Toei logo alone:

The Toei logo is 11 seconds long and MKV-Merge makes the key-frame-split either at 10 or 12 seconds.
So I am pretty sure they have to re-encode the whole episode first every time just to cut that out.
Extra-work + unnecessary quality loss for the benefit of... nothing? Because that logo is ugly?

I mean it is ugly, I can understand the wish to have it gone,
but just press forward on the media player once and you got past it.

It's not like I want to watch the whole 2 minute opening every time.
