I just noticed that in episodes 2-10 of this upload, the beginning 16 frames stutter or repeat. I will upload a V2 and fix these episodes asap. Most likely will be up in a couple days. Once the 16 starting frames go by the rest of the episode is perfectly fine, so it's not broken and can be watched just fine in the meantime until I get the V2 uploaded.

@DarkDream787 I noticed that you are using a very old encoder version of x264 (~2012?)( x264 core 120 r2164 da19765 ). Maybe this version you are using is not very optimized for high resolutions and bitrate x264.
These symptoms happens only in MPC-HC with LAV decoder. In VLC playback is flawless.

@kmeleon22
That's not the reason, and they aren't symptoms. They shouldn't play back perfectly for you in VLC like you are saying, and I guarantee it, because the issue is my fault, and its in the video itself. It has absolutely nothing to do with the codec, or the media player you're using, and should happen in all players. This frame issue is due to my avisynth scripts when I encoded the video. Those duplicate 16 frames were supposed to be all black for syncing purposes, and I accidentally duplicated frames from the episodes beginning that were not black in my scripts. Those episodes had no black frames at the beginning to duplicate. The other episodes that were not affected, had some black frames at the beginning, so it duplicated those as I planned and came out fine. I did not notice this until it was already all finished and uploaded.

Everything is still perfectly in sync and fine, but those first 16 frames are not black like I intended them to be, and are just the beginning 2 frames of the episode repeating itself 8 times. Thus the reason for the stuttering/repeating at the beginning half second of those episodes. It's a very simple fix and I'm running the fixed scripts through my encoder. I will most likely have the fixed ones up Sunday afternoon, or some time on Monday.

@DarkDream787 Ok. You are right. My mistake, I only checked only episode 1 to 3. After episode 4, the stuttering/repeating is visible with both VLC and MPC-HC.

For audio syncing? If so why not edit the audio instead?

@Simplistic
The USA Blu-Rays have a small 16 frames of black at the beginning of all their episodes. Other than that, they are frame for frame identical on playback, just different qualities.
Its much easier and faster to just add in a couple of black frames to the beginning of the Japanese video, so its exactly the same as the USA Blu-Rays video frame for frame when it plays back, but has the Japanese source quality. Then I wont have to edit the English audio, and wont have to retime subtitles from the US Blu-Rays, and it all syncs 100% perfectly as if it were the USBD, but with better Japanese video.
There's many ways I could have gone about doing this syncing. That's how I chose, and preferred to do it for this series. Since the video was frame for frame identical other than the first 16 frames, and I did not have to do anything else to the video for syncing, adding the black frames was a simple, 100% accurate, time saving, less work, sync job.

It's 256kbps AAC 2.0 stereo. There was no 5.1 lossless audio on either set of Blu-Rays or the DVD's, for either language.
