It was mostly a gag sports anime with weird sci-fi flourishes? It's hilariously over-the-top at the end, when Kanzaki has to run a race against a woman fused to the hood of a car, but I think one's enjoyment depends on whether you're able to invest emotionally in somewhat shallow caricatures.
