thanks i have a lg bluray record burn bd xl i found this 50gb bluray to burn there are smart people who complain that they can't play this with vlc alone, it's easy even a child can do it:
first open vlc , media, open disc, select bluray, browse, select the BDROM folder and finally play.
Why the hell would anyone use VLC though? Just use a good player like mpc-hc and open the .mpls file. Unlike the above "solution", it literary takes 5 seconds.
I like how you always say to avoid VLC yet never mention a reason as to why you should avoid it, why would anyone go out of their way to use another player if they already have that..? Stop hating for no reason, it's kind of annoying.
I hardly ever use VLC-either Pot Player or Kodi for me.
@Array: actually, the reason why VLC sucks has been explained MANY times, but fans of it always seem to "miss" the explanation and keep claiming that it is hated for now reason. So, for the 45th time: it has poor subtitle support,it randomly breaks typesetting, it has poorer decoding performance and abysmal color output. And no, I don't mean an ancient version from 5 years ago. VLC is a crap player. Stop defending it. The only reason it has a following is because it's "easy" to use and any idiot can start it without having to know anything about how a video is supposed to look. It's made for uneducated viewers.

This is a BDMV. It's a literal copy of the disc. You play the .mpls files, not the .m2ts files.

@Delphisage: This is totally googleable: M2TS File Extension.
MPC-HC is included in the K-Lite Codec Pack and it is better at video quality and subtitle, but it's Windows-only. VLC is better at streaming and general-purpose playback, and it's cross-platform, but in the latest version, building subtitles' cache takes more time than MPC: 5+ seconds on my computer. There's also another player called mpv, which is a god-tier for playing anime. It's cross-platform but you might have a hard time configuring it through config files.
I redownloaded this again. I found the MPLS files and am playing that with MPC. Do I use the sub track that says "English [eng] (pgs)"?
@Delphisage you are better off just downloading and watching a normal re-encode if you're new here. Try this version: https://nyaa.si/view/1365488
If you're still having trouble since it's HEVC, just find another re-encode in x264.
@Corus: The MPLS file plays just fine using MPC. I'm just asking if the subs are reliable, since I kinda need to see the dialogue for the authentic Nasu experience.
Does that re-encode you're linking to have subs?
@Delphisage you can see the category in which the torrent is tagged as. If you see the category is under 'Anime' -> 'English Translated', it automatically suggests that the file has English subs as a bare minimum.
