DmonHiro, it can be stolen with OCR software or by manual retyping.

Don't understand why are so upset about the hardsubs? Was just going by what remember when I used to fansub many many years ago. Plus it's not hard getting the subs anyways like WizarD said... All I wanted to do is work and share something that I have a passion for being planetarian.

AriaHoshi, because hardsubs are pointless now. They have any disadvantages over softsubs, and they still carry the preconception that people are only using them because they don't want their subs stolen. If you were a fansubber back in the day you know this was true.

Could you share the .srt/.ass of the subtitle? So it can be muxed on the BD audio/video. It'not for stealing your work, just that I like to have the best A/V source possible.

@DmonHiro, While hardsubs are less popular today than in 2016 when computers were less powerful and this anime was published, they are still good for timing-critical things like typesetting signs in-place or things that eat CPU time like crazy (one example of the latter was the ending karaoke for a movie I typeset in 2017 - in softsub form those styled and scrolling subs would get out of sync with the audio even on a 3.2 GHz Pentium III [a very fast computer back then])

@tdsii While hardsubs can distort the video if care is not taken, that is not always the case.
