Yeah, the encode ended up quite a chonker, but that was the only way to retain all the film grain that exists in the source. I'm not a fan of degraining/denoising because it washes away fine details, specially in dark scenes, and Lain is full of dark grainy scenes.

How did you handle the lower resolution shots? IIRC, some scenes were scanned in lower resolution, and some were upscaled from SD with q-tec-like algorithm.
