Mushoku Tensei, episode 5.

There is an alternate honorifics track in this release. Set your media player to play “enm” language tracks by default to automatically play honorifics tracks.

Regarding that noble introduction thing. How about changing 'circle' to 'arc' for technical accuracy?
Also, I think you might be one of the few ones active who would use 'dere' on a non-honorific track (which is neither a bad nor a good thing).

Good suggestion. For the dere line, I tried hard to rewrite it in a way that would still be funny, but I failed. Better to keep a really funny line that some people will understand than a mediocre line that everyone will understand.

It's like in Bakemonogatari 01 where Senjougahara says "I suppose you'd call characters like me 'tsundere.'" She's specifically referencing Japanese tropes, so who exactly is benefiting if I translate the word to something else? It's different if the line is something like "Such a tsundere," to refer to someone who's not being honest with themself—that can be translated just fine. But when the term is a meta reference to Japanese tropes, just leave it!

Will watch this in a few hours, but @MTBB that line was adapted with "tsundere-->bipolar" in the (very good) official Italian translation of bakemonogatari.

But you wouldn't call "characters like [her]" bipolar, is the point. Bipolar characters aren't a trope. (And in the context of bakemonogatari 01, the fact that tropes are involved is important to the subsequent dialogue.)

I'll stop support for vsfilter once any well-maintained MPC build switches over to rendering subs in libass by default. This may already have happened, dunno.

Using my plex server and playing on the TV, for the most part. When watching on the PC, I use the MPC-Madvr combo.

So, I wanted to do something a bit special for this episode... unluckily for me I didn't have time, will try to do it for the next one. This episode is blind territory for me, given that I don't plan on reading the next novels (at least yet...).

Did we really get a glimpse of goreporn? Damn, from worse to worst. Author's fetishes are getting out of control. Actually, I'm impressed Urobutcher isn't credited somewhere in this episode, I'd expect him to pull this shit off.
On a more positive note, the production value of this series is insane. I can't believe that even after 5 episodes the animation quality didn't degrade but remained consistent with the pilot. Feels like an insane waste given this is a random isekai.

Since there aren't any lewd moments present, is this your favorite episode so far? Would you prefer the rest of the series' episodes to remain this sanitized and lewd-less? Do you agree with China's Bilibili streaming site removing the show from their service because of a supposed "lack of morals"? Do you believe that the studio should tone things down moving forward so that the CCP controlled service will allow them to start making money using their platform again? The show was the number one most popular anime on the site before it was removed after all. If your answer is yes to any of these questions, then you are a heathen and a charlatan who does not deserve to behold this wondrous work of art. Good day my good sir.

Because MTBB has better encode. Also, better font. And I have all the time in the world to wait a few weeks. Besides, I can't comment in other comment sections because it'd just feel wrong. I am here to bitch about ecchi solely on MTBB's torrents.

Alright then, I want to bitch how little people appreciate seiyuus over visuals and story. For me it would actually be:
OST -> seiyuus -> story -> visuals, so it's a little bit sad how it gets over most viewers heads. Having Sugita on board as a narrator is a huge plus on its own, Although, be it my personal bias, just for that fact I could look at a series more leniently.

I for one don't care much about seiyuus. Hell, I don't even know the name of a single one, although I may recognize previous characters they did when I hear their voice. Them and the OST should be a complement the story, in my opinion.

I wish we cold have it all all the time, but I'll take a good story over anything else, anytime. Unless it's that CG crap, than there's no story that can make me watch that.

There was no option on the survey for it, but Plex and TV for me (running from a Chromecast w/ Google TV). Did use the mpv-shim before, but I have a server w/ QuickSync and there's not a loss of quality from transcoding in most scenes anyway.

I primarily use MPC-HC. I use mpv for the rare shows that run poorly on MPC.

mpv doesn't support linked op/ed. LAV Splitter's advanced mode which allows prioritizing an english track is very useful. (ex. eng@Dialogue will be prioritized over an eng@Signs & Songs track).

I've been using K-Lite Mega Codec Pack for the past 10 years as it's done wonders for me until recently I noticed a few videos where the sound goes distorted when a lot of action is going on. Kept thinking it was a poor encode until I tried out MPC-HC and that's where I think the certain encoders tailor too as the distorted issue has pretty much gone.

Yeah KLMCP uses media player classic but I tried out MPC-HC as recommended by motbob as the audio issues were present in his/her encode and it solve my issue.

Please do not give up on doing this series! You're the only one not using the shitty Funimation rip!
