They work perfectly fine. If they aren't working for you switch to a better player like MPV or MPC-HC.

i have been wondering for quite a while why sub groups use mkv and not hardcode the subs to avi or mp4 because it does make sense to do so
if you dont want subs download raw.

We have a lovely discord community where you can discuss your problem. There is no point in posting it here, it misleads people. VLC works fine and I am on the newest version.

To be clear, SubsPlease releases play flawlessly on a healthy VLC installation. The codecs and subtitle scripts simply aren't complex enough to cause inconsistent rendering. If someone's VLC fails to play SubsPlease releases properly, the fault lies with that one person's VLC installation.
