Imagine putting out an encode that looks worse than one from almost 6 years ago, that is also 59% smaller in size.
Is it actually that bad?

What the fuck? It's not fully uploaded. Don't judge before you even download it. And that is just me playing a joke, shocking this encode is actually smaller than most of my other encodes even though I used CRF14.

I love it when people complain about size, c'mon man it's 2020.
and yet we have a lot of incompetent encoders who bloat their stuff for no good reason, assuming there is a good reason to bloat their stuff in the first place!

Instead of complaining, you could change the audio to FLAC yourself, if you hate bloat so badly. Actually bitching about this is pretty pointless. Don't want it, just don't download. It's that simple. There are still so many alternatives.This show isn't dead.

Well here's a comparison. too lazy to post more.
Koten has far worse lines, aliasing and some haloing. And the banding on this is as bad as a mini encode, which is stupid since it's 1.5 GB+/EP. @eijig was right, the 6 year old encode by Beatrice still looks better than this one despite being half the size. Bloat is bad.
From the comparison seems it's true. But like ingenious said there's other options. Don't have to be a dick eijig. Try to be constructive. We're all here for anime :)
