Yes. Opus is better than AAC. I’ve compared the two, and many other audio codecs. It’s the most transparent in my opinion. Only problem is, it has issues with compatibility for some people. Thanks for the upload!

Opus is transparent at far lower bitrates than AAC, but it's not like either are bad whatsoever. I've swapped over to (relatively bloated) opus, but AAC should serve you fine more often than not still.

@Ingenioussubs "More transparent than" isn't at thing. It's either transparent or not. What I think you meant to say is that opus is transparent at lower bitrates than AAC is for most anime content. Also for compatibility, it's not like that's really a concern tbh. We're already handling two formats that basically nothing supports (10bit h264 and ASS), so what's another incompatible format?

What I meant about the compatibility issue was on mobile devices. Sometimes Opus doesn’t work for some people depending on the mobile device they have. Usually if it’s ancient.

mpv is available on Android. You're fucked no matter what with iOS, though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have iOS but can only play videos with the Opus codec in the VLC app. Apple sucks when it comes to compatibility sometimes.

Been here since 2016. Before nyaa.se got shutdown. Just never made an account. I've done typesetting myself countless times and it's not fun. Takes a while till you get the hang of it, and sometimes a ridiculous amount of time depending on the content of an episode.
