@TheHWNJ Remux can be anything which is muxed & for Bd Remux here FLAC is lossless audio so yeah it is BD remux.it's you who lost your minds here.bd remux is where contains lossless tracks for both audio+video.it can be thd,dtsma or any other lossless tracks not necessary from type disc's lossless audio.know first the difference between encode & remux dude.

Guys-when I do a remux, bd or dvd I take the audio and video raw off the disc and subtitles (or not)-there's no reencoding involved.

A bluray remux or re-encode wouldn't justify this size. This is very close to a straight BD rip. The fact is the encoder ripped the files using h.264 which results in large file sizes. Flac doesn't always end uphaving large audio files. HEVEC h265/x265 with straight flac would have reduced the file size of ripping blu-ray to digital files. We would have seen probably 25GB to 40gb rather than the 80gb. It's just a really bad encode. Yes it's basically attempting to try to do a remux as close to a straight rip pull as possible. But it's not done well. There is no need for it. h.265 does way better and I've done progressive scans and looked over the image quality differences between h.264 and h.265 and there is very little visible quality unless you are like watdching this off of an 80 to 100 inch screen to notice any difference. Also h.265 has improved so much over the years since 2017 that compared to the early days of the encoder where you could see some color loss, the encoder has been improved and no visible difference . Also just to inform people it's not lossless video. saringan_slayer is lying to you. H.264 IS. NOT. A. LOSSLESS. CONTAINER. It still re-encodes videos and some compression is done but it does it poorly for blue-rays when trying to keep the highest quality. Hence large file sizes. I've switched over to h.265 because it's reasonably better. Also PCM and FLAC are both technically losses audio. Just one is a straight up container and one is an actual encoder. By the way don't argue with me. I work as a videographer for a living so I've taken plenty of raw footage know my encodes. Remux is fancy word and it doesn't always been lossess quality which saringan_slayer is right about. Though most of the times in the industry we don't use remux for converting blue-rays to single episode files. But his info about encoders being losses is mostly false. The only losses part is the FLAC audio. Again that doesn't contribute to the size. It's the video.
