Another of Masami Oobari's hidden gems. Denoised and restored as much as I could given the low bitrate source.

Really wish people would realize that Noise is so much more than just noise. It's the literal data and information in the picture. The second you start scrubbing it the quality of the image gets worse, wipe it all and it looks terrible.

If people want to watch a show when it looks like this all power to them but don't try to sell it as 'Restored' because it's anything but.

People seem to think everything needs to look like clean digital HD all the time even though we spent nearly 80 years previously with no real problem with grain/noise.

Please stop using the word "Restored" when "Destroyed" is more accurate. These extremely filtered video are bad and will never be accepted on other torrent sites that require quality. Maybe these releases look fine on a small screen on your phone but on a large HDTV they look dreadful.

The old DVD releases are flawed but they're impossible to restore, if you think going overboard with DNR filters restores/fixes it you are wrong. The goal should be to improve the DVD flaws like trying to remove the rainbow artifacts and maybe fixing the color and sharpness. Sometimes less is more.

Some people like grain, others don't. I wish I had masters. My source did not have a good bit-rate so I admitted it wasn't the best. Thanks for posting that comparison and yes the subs are from AnimeKeep. Go ahead and remux it

You can remove grain without having the DNR at max making the animation look very artificially altered which is not how the original film animation would look so calling it "restored" is as far as you can get. It went from looking like cel animation to looking like digital made art.
Many encoders remove noise or grain for many years, they just try not to go overboard with the filters.

Also, stop using the word "restored". Even if the encode wasn't what it is, you can't use the word. Restored from what? To restore something you need something that was broken. What exactly are you restoring?

@ DmonHiro

Huh, this guy is just another Moozzi2. Not surprised.

He uses the term "restoration" in the same way that FUNimation does. Fucks them beyond hell.

Restored? Tag your releases as "filtered to hell" or "no image detail" these releases are worse than naoki raws.

Holy shit. This is terrible. Looking at the specs is enough. I don't even want to see the picture. Restoration? I've lost my wits there.

Looking at those pics just gave me PTSD lol. Applying filters isn't very hard, but it takes some time to learn. If you can't do it, then why even bother. Just created a complete disaster. Shouldn't even have bothered uploading. The insults would've been spared.

idk about this but the stuff that orphan releases is what i would call restores.. if it already existed in digital format then its not really that
