Description

The aliasing on this show, god dammit

PP: Weak denoise, descale+AA, deband, ravu chroma upscale, decensor/merge of that one clip from the OP with exposed ladybits from that hardsubbed Chinese stream

Specifics on the anti-aliasing/scaling:

  • Debicubic to 1490x838
  • Double with FSRCNN
  • Scale to 3200x1800 with Spline64
  • prime with nnedi3 (rpow2 settings) on lower field -> merged with strict edge mask (90)
  • eedi3 on upper field
  • repair mode 13 with FSRCNN clip
  • Spline36 back to 1490x838 and merge with moderate edge mask (60)

By no means does the lineart look "good" now, but the staircase-like appearance is gone and its not blurry which is about as much as I could've hoped to accomplish
Normal AA on the 1080p ED (not worth going into)
Tried to fix the eyecatches but I'm not gonna bother with it for the rest of the episodes

EoE did the rest under Judas, I don't know if you want it just for subs or for uncensored parts, but it's there.

The subs, yeah. The uncensored part was just the OP afaik. I assume the uncensored ladyparts were thanks to the streamers getting early copies of the video from before the censornazis got their dirty paws on it. Kinda like that thing that happened early this season with Funimation

That seemed intended and wouldn't need fixing in my book.

For the subs, the official translations are great and were used in the Judas releases.

Last part of the op (the white cen on the penis) also became thinner after few eps but never was changed in Judas's releases since their group seem to be mostly 1-few people who mostly relies on other people's help and just reused that lawyer's edited OP (the one who really deserve the praises although he stopped subbing after ep 2 thx to the rori in ep 3) with no more edits or whatsoever~

In the BDs it's thinner from the start though so no edit is needed, but tbh that part isn't even interest me, just wanted people to know ;p

Looking forward to the rest. However, I was only able to play this on VLC player. I get errors when I play on my default player. Any chance for a fix?

Awesome work Zastin, thanks for making your own version with the decensored OP, I could never make it work haha.

The fixes in the aliasing really make it shine, just one question, why not encode it in 1080p? Is it because of the decensored op, the aliasing or something else?

There's absolutely nothing to gain from it. Most of the textures and backgrounds are blurry save for a few random things like parchment which honestly just makes it look out of place. Like why tf does the brick wall in the pub look like its 360p, the wood tables maybe 480p and the fucking paper is practically 4k? Not to mention any meaningful high res edges are getting choked out and triple teamed by nnedi3, eedi3 and FSRCNN. Even the 1080p ED scenes are just 2 fps slideshows that are somehow also full of aliasing.

Oh I see, yeah, 1080p in anime is usually just placebo.
Anyway, I hope you can continue with this project. I will keep looking forward to your version.
