aren't half those x264 settings redundant if you just use the veryslow preset?

also you might want to deband at the end of the filtering

thank you for your feedback, most of them are included in the preset already, i did not see any need for debanding so i left it that way.

I think you should try doing screenshot comparisons between chroma-qp-offset -4 vs default. There will be a huge filesize difference and, I predict, almost no change in quality.

I don't have any other suggestions. Please post the screenshot comparisons and filesizes if you do the chroma-qp-offset test btw, I also want to see the result.

Well, I guess I do have one thing to say. FYI, if you are using default settings for DebicubicM, the descale/spline mask may not handle all types of content well. For example, it's supposed to handle things like credits (exclude credits from descale), but it doesn't really do a good job of that. Try comparing DebicubicM to just spline downscale during an ED with credits. ED credits for both downscale methods should look the same, but in practice they don't. For that reason, I don't like applying DebicubicM over the whole video without something more, because non-native content is probably going to look weird/oversharpened.

Also, FYI, Mob Psycho II changed upscale kernels at some point during production (I know the S2 OVA is a different kernel), so watch out.

oww i encode at 1.5fps o i have to reencode and that takes a lot of time, i'll do it but don't expect it anytime soon (i5-4200M).
