I'm working on Episode 12. It'll take a while because I'm captioning on my own instead of relying on JP captions.

@Jinxyface Damn, is that so? I was starting to learn just before the pandemic and I can kinda already tell apart some of the words kinda.

timing is the easiest part of fansubbing by far, so i hope that's not why.

also, i'd be pretty surprised if someone who at least watches some anime had bad listening skills. i think it's more likely they just aren't that good at japanese if they need closed captions to translate an anime.

Japanese subs make the job a whole lot easier because I don't need to time anything and I can safely rely on what I'm reading, and use a dictionary when there's a word I don't know.

I'm doing the entire job by myself now (timing and transcribing/translating). So I hope you're happy with that.
If not, well, go away.

EDIT: Also if you knew anything about Japanese, you'd know homonyms are everywhere, and there are cases where a word changes depending on how you pronounce it. But you don't, so I don't know why you come for nearly every upload I do to complain.

I know it's a long shot, but what about software that converts audio to text? I know it wouldn't be perfect, but it might help. Either way, doing it this quickly all on your own is impressive, so screw all the haters. Unless they are capable of doing the subbing themselves, they should shut up.

yes, it's called pitch accent and/or context. you can figure out which one it is pretty easily most of the time.

I am very much fluent in English, despite it not being my native language, yet I still occasionally have to look up words. So, looking up words, especially for japanese, is not really a indicator for how fluent you are. Hell, at times I have to look up words I am native in.

And you are literally contributing nothing productive to a discussion on a torrent of a show you aren't even watching.

Meanwhile Kry provides us a service for FREE with a pretty damn good quality so far. Meanwhile all you do is upload raws/already subbed media.

re: herkz. herkz is right some of the time, but he's an asshole. most of the time his criticism is shallow and can be ignored. people are not coming to this group for an archival release, they are not coming for a perfect translation, they just want to watch the show, and this gets the job done solidly as other groups work on better translations. furthermore, unless herkz can actually substantiate his criticism with evidence, he's just posting dumb conjecture about how the translation is "likely" bad or mediocre. all he's doing is continuing to encourage the culture of toxicity in the nyaa comments (this is not something i consider a serious issue, but it can get old after a while). basically, he tries to shield himself by saying he's just "posting criticism" but his criticism is vapid and shallow and generally lacks any sort of merit because he doesn't actually take a closer look at the torrents he shitposts on. the best course of action for herkz would be to stop posting in bad faith, but he's not going to do that since he clearly gets some sort of enjoyment out of shitposting in the comments section, so the next best course of action is for people to ignore his posts entirely (if they are shallow).

By the way, my native language is not English, mine is Hungarian, but I am as fluent at speaking and writing English as an upper-intermediate-advanced speaker can humanly get, and yes, I still have to look up for words that aren't commonly used, even by a native speaker. Same for rarely used Hungarian words.

Why would you judge someone based on this? I bet you, too, have to look up for words in your native language because you don't use them often.

By the way, I'm pretty much hyped for the Episode 12 sub!

@TheKemonoWay You speak English better than pretty much all of my friends who speak it as their native tongue. Personally, when people use uncommon English words, I usually have no clue what they mean, and English is my native tongue. I also can't wait for episode 12, I'm dying and I keep checking ever five minutes for it.
