Description

This is a collection of the entire Sword World series.

This collection includes the following:

  • Lodoss Senki (Record of Lodoss War) from sxales
  • Lodoss Senkei Eiyu Kishi-den (Record of Lodoss War Chronicles of the Heroic Knight) from chillock
  • Lodoss Senki Legend of Crystania from Beatrice (with added Dual Audio plus Signs & Songs thanks to mitchshark!)
  • Lodoss Senki Legend of Crystania Chaos Ring from a4e and NAG&WhiteTiger (fused and reworked with magic from PH13!)
  • Rune Soldier from places unknown (Nandoto or Nyaa, courtesy of being shared by mitchshark!)

I only put together this collection for one convenient place to acquire all of Legend of Crystania.

I figured I would bundle it all to make a Sword World collection.

I hope this doesn't offend anyone that I put together this collection, just trying to spread my love for Sword World.

For me, I searched for Japanese audio with English subtitles. That is why I used the sources that I did.

[v2] Due to an oversight on my part, I had to reupload the torrent. I also forgot to login before uploading. The previous torrent had issues with bad copies of Rune Soldier. I have taken the time to double-check and verify the episodes.

All should be working!

[v3] Huge thanks to PH13 for the help with a superior version of the Crystania OVA episodes.

[v3.1] PH13 converted the audio to PCM using ffmpeg, joined the fiels with mkvtoolnix, re-encoded the audio to ACC using ffmpeg FDK-AAC vbr4, remuxed with mkvtoolnix to fix some metadata, AND added some magic for the video track in ffmpeg due to a timestamp issue! (Whew! Thanks for the hard work, friend!)

[v3.2] PH3 used the video and japanese audio from the Russian version plus the english audio and subs from the a4e (anime4ever). I found this to be the superior version, which is the version used in the torrent.

[v4] Huge thanks to mitchshark for offering up a higher quality version of Rune Soldier. Source unknown, either Nandato or from the past of Nyaa! mitchshark added french audio and subs from a french DVD-Remux. Thanks for helping improve this collection!

[v5] For the Legend of Crystania movie, mitchshark made a signs & songs track from the original English subs plus added an English audio! The collection now has dual audio for the Crystania movie! Thanks again for helping to improve the collection!

@D44 Lodoss War OVA (Lodoss-tou Senki) is based some on the novel and such but it wasn’t completed in time (keep this in mind when watching the TV ver might be after episode 8) so it has an anime original ending.

Lodoss War TV series (Lodoss-tou Senki: Eiyuu Kishi Den) is said to be a more faithful adaption and some aspects of the story compared to the OVA will be changed a bit (as mentioned above on why).

Legend of Crystania takes place sometime after the TV series featuring some characters from Lodoss War.

Rune Soldier is said to take place in the same world but story is not connected to Lodoss War.

I recommend:

Watching the original OVA since they’re awesome
Then watching the TV series (expect a retelling of the OVA a bit and… can’t say won’t spoil the rest)
Then watching Crystania’s movie (labeled here as “Crystania 00”) then the 3 OVA’s of it
Then if you want watch Rune Soldier.

@noZA_ Thanks for the answer! As for Meshimase Lodoss, I considered looking for it. But, I decided not to look for it. I figured that it’s not set in Lodoss so I’m not sure I wanted to get it. I named all of the files so that it would be relatively easy to watch Lodoss War in order. Then, Rune Soldier is separate since it’s in the same world but not connected, as you said. :)

Maybe. I read that Wonder Labyrinth is part of the 30th year anniversary celebration. I adore this game!

Thanks for this collection. Fucking amazing work, seriously. I only ever saw Lodoss Senki like 20 years ago, I had no idea there was a whole series of shows. Very much appreciated.

i have the Spanish (Castellano Argentina) subs for Lodoss OVAs if you want, from my fansub of year 2002.

Sorry. I don't have the motivation to add more to the torrent. There is only one reason why I would update this collection at this point. But, I will need to wait and see if my friend is going to continue their project. I've seen two episodes of the project. It's pretty cool. But, my friend is busy and may not have the time for a long while.

Rune Soldier takes place in the same world as Lodoss War - that's like "Scary Movie" takes place in the same world of "Scream".
Don't mix original and it's parody. Even for the same author.

Second episode of Rune Soldier in this batch has mistimed subs... they start out fine but midway through the OP they start coming out way before the actual dialogue.

Rune Soldier takes place on the continent of Alecrast on the world called Forcelia, and is related to the series Sword World RPG. Rune Soldier is a sibling series to Record of Lodoss War (also by Mizuno), taking place on a continent north of Lodoss Island. Alecrast is the continent north of the island of Lodoss. Alecrast is the setting of the Rune Soldier franchise of novels and the birthplace of Kashue and Maar.

Years late but I wanted to add an extra for anybody that cares about the world building in Lodoss War and is starving for some Lodoss War content. It's not anime but manga, however, I would call this manga a must read that being Lodoss-tou Senki: Pharis no Seijo or in English Record of Lodoss War: The Lady of Pharis. Honestly, I thought I was about the only person who knew that these 3 series all shared the same world. I kind of picked up on it while watching Rune Soldier though, but found out after it came out and then it all suddenly came together. IMO, the OVA and Rune Soldier are the best.
