This is literally just the Horrible-Subs subs with me swapping in the name “Yoru” for every instance of Bam, and “Lahelu” for every instance of Rachel, because I’m a big whiny baby who can’t stand when the names on the screen don’t match what I can clearly hear being said.

Someone asked me last time to replace "Non-Regulars" with "Irregulars" but good news, apparently CR decided to that themselves so I didn't have to change anything regarding that.

So having watched this episode, it looks like character names isn't the only thing CR is not translating from japanese... Could you also change shinsu to divine water for next releases please?

As with the character names, it's really annoying to be hearing them say kami no mizu and the sub reading some random word lol

i also hate when the subs are in english but the audio is in japanese. that's why i only watch full-romaji subs.

I just don't like names being changed, so sue me. I felt similarly about the Jojo names being changed. Seriously, changing Oingo and Boingo to like, Zenyatta and Mondatta, I don't know how people WEREN'T driven mad.

but the jojo names were changed to nonsense for no reason. pretty sure the "changed" names here are just the korean names.

Regardless of reason, I'm still clearly hearing a name said that's not what is shown on the subs. It's super distracting, especially when said alone.

If they wanted the names to be Bam and Rachel they shoulda got the VAs to at least try and say them. shrug

It wasn't no reason, regarding Jojos. I heard that it was because most of them were song references which presents potential copyright issues and that's why they were changed. If you're talking about stand names anyhow.
That said, let's not act like it's particularly unusual to not like hearing and reading something different. It's just jarring, whether you understand Japanese or not.

being in the audio would be enough to violate copyright if that was the case. it's not like their lawyers can't find someone who speaks japanese. changing it in the subs wouldn't help in any way i can fathom.

I hope you keep up the work. I don't care what he is called in Korea when the characters clearly call him Yoru.

Don't get it into your head that this is any work at all. I was surprised how simple it is. It takes like 5 seconds to extract the subtitles, another 15 seconds to open them up and find/replace the names, and maybe a minute to make the torrent, fill out the upload form and upload it to nyaa

If I knew it was this easy I wouldn't have spent time waiting for fixed name subs of JoJo back in the day.
