Why not ? Also its very light doesn't really do much... But if its hurting your eyes go for another release.

That's exactly what they did. Using Opus isn't the problem, encoding a lossy codec to another lossy codec is.
You should leave the audio track as is. I see other mini encoders doing the same thing to save maybe 10mb.

Regarding video, there's really no point in sharpening, I suggest you do stuff like debanding and anti aliasing instead, if the source requires it.
