I second what MysticEyes said, do you need to watch those recap movies? I believe they're actually different from the anime.

you have to watch the movies (the first 3 are subbed only, thanks lazy fan-services, hype series only Funimation)
they changed the plot, the series although similar the plot differs and some arcs of the anime have been removed for pacing; a great example is a character that dies in the series is kept alive throughout the movies the movies aren’t recaps they are their own plot with just a few new scenes and cuts.
Since the obvious example is this character is alive in the movies.
Also this movie is basically fan service for a certain ship couple.

Also might I ad C.C. voice just doesn't sound right.
but it's probably the same as her cameo in Akito...

Personally wouldn't really suggest needing to watch the movies.
My experience was fine with only watching TV seasons.
