Is this an old encode or is Bonkai back?

It's amazing that when Nyaa uploaders add "enhanced" in the title, it always seems to mean: used extremely destructive filtering to the point of ruining all detail and making a garbage encode.

If he knew what he was doing he wouldn’t be putting out re-encode after re-encode.

as a person who know how to encode, I know using filter will count as lost details, but what bonkai77 does is awesome, his encode are the best, yes some unneeded details lost but the quality that gained it make it more pleasurable to watch,as for me I depend on x265 binary customizing it setting to fit the need which it make small files but its not ENHANCED, I am trying to make ENHANCED torrent but I do not have free time right now

every year our software is upgrading so that means they come up new encodes with enhanced without bloating the size everyone.

I love quality but I'm not a purist, I prefer AAC over FLAC for movies, and I enjoy reasonable enhancements. But this is straight murder: https://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/5436. Note how in this release the music box lost all detail on the keyboard and the lower half became a black hole. Look at the massacred reflections on the table. The smudgy bottles... Avoid.

@StStRt: It all comes down to preference. The image certainly looks sharper, so I prefer it this way

Sharpness is not just about the line-art but also about details in the textures. Talking about sharpness when details are lost (i.e. blurriness where there should be contrast) doesn't make sense at all.
Preferring sharpness this way, is exactly the same as preferring the better appearance after cosmetic surgery. Because it pleases the eye, but only at first glance. About if this is enough to fulfill one's expectation, it is not a matter of taste, but of education about prioritizing what is important.
